Umm they are for me.

But I'm new to this. but think there are very fair and simple.
Me too Liegh, it was you reference to cars without DLs running in Class A - you seemed to forget about the poor relations in their V6s wink
I don't think there are any rules to stop people running V6 or 4pots on Class A, you prob, not get any points but there's nothing to stop you.

We ran a DL1 2 years ago and it worked perfectly well.

The fact that this year an independent adjudicator is collating all the data makes life very easy indeed - all you need to do is turn on the car, switch on the logger and drive - that's as complicated as it needs to be.

Quite complicated to cheat though, maybe thats the issue.hehe

To use the logger you need to

a) bolt it somewhere in the middle of the car, say transmission tunnel
b) site the antenna on the out side. Its mag mount so a bit of that 3m velcro type stuff is good
c) plug the antenna and 12volts into the logger. ( the 12v should be from a fused ignition feed. if igintion is on logger should be powered.

At the circuit
A) Hand your two data cards over to Nick who will make sure they are formatted and add a start file to them.
b) go and drive. the loggers will be configured to start logging when there is a gps fix and the car is moving for more than a certain time.... This will stop people forgetting to start the logger, and also restart the logger if the car stalls as this can stop the logging.
c) after race, cars will be weighed where possible and cards will be handed to nick in parc ferme.

Now the calculation is in some ways very simple but also very complicated which is where RT's software comes into its own.

Nick will work through the data and analyse it posting the results when they are ready.

Nick is going to RT this week for some training, so hopefully next week we should send out the working methods document, so that everyone knows what is required and and how the system will be operated. Also included will be a procedure for collecting coast down data, as these are needed for each car, although as we have more than one for each type of car we will be able to compare as well..

Nick's role is to calc the figures and to help everyone use the dl1 for both power logging and data analysis. Were also hoping to be able to demo the addition of video syncing to the data traces..

Now this will be new to a lot of us in the first few races, so we'll need a bit of support from everyone to get it working smoothly, so we've looked at the options, had the debate, made the choice we just need to get on with it now..

Im hoping for a smooth year, with the data logging just a side issue to great season... which if we all pull together ( as we have in the past) should be no problem.

Also please remember that Nick is also a volunteer giving up his own time, to come and help us out as he is a TVR fan and motorsport enthusiast. HE will be working to a given set of paramaters, so if you dont like the results or dont agree with them. I want them discussed reasonably and it will be looked at. If necc we can send data back to RT. If anyone is unreasonable and abusive with Nick I WILL HAVE THEM BARRED from the TVRCC, which is a requirement of the challenge that you are a member... ( and much easier to sort than anything through the msa evil)

Now I dont see there being a problem or any requirement to do that in the slightest but I just thought I'd mention it now rather than having to later, as its not something I even want to consider.... THIS IS FUN REMEMBER....

The start file will name the files, and also configure the logger.
