It's certainly lost some of it's charm recently but I'll still be watching and hoping Franchitti can join the legends with a fourth win for himself and of course a fourth straight win for a British driver thanks to Dan Wheldon.

I haven't seen any races this year - who has the UK rights these days?

Overlooking the overall low car count, how close do you want your Indy Lights finish?

US race series have great camera footage. Swivelling cams inside, outside, and so on.

Absolutely amazing, heroic effort from Dempsey! Gotta feel for the guy leading to finish fourth!

Expect a partisan crowd. The whole city is behind local boy Ed Carpenter who has pole. Unless there is some sandbagging going on (see last year) the Honda cars are not competitive so unlikely that Dario can join ultra exclusive the 4 times winner club. Forecast is cool so the track should be quick.

I am in Indy at the moment ready for the race tomorrow!
I'm just hoping the inevitable rain doesn't cause too many problems.

Local news saying that the rain should stay west of us until after the race.

First Indy 500? Why aren't you out on W 16th and Georgetown getting totally ring bolted?
Jesus, what's the world coming to?

hehe Yeah, sitting on the bank outside Mike's bar the night before the race with 500 bikers drinking beer and watching the exhibitionists go up and down is the way to go. Did it until 2am a couple of years ago.

Sitting here 10 miles west of the track at 10.40 it's dry and overcast but the clouds are high. Hopefully it will stay that way!

Huge day for Indiana - the 500 this afternoon and the Pacers take on the Heat and the hated Le Bron tonight with a real possibility of going ahead in the Eastern Conference Finals. Let's have a great race and GO PACERS!

As well as the usual British interest in the race we have a debut from Conor Daly who is the son of Irish ex formula 1 driver Derek Daly who now lives here in Indy.

Lots of cold-looking spectators at Indy. Sky looks pretty grey. Is this going to finish tomorrow ?
