Sad news that Murray has had a fall and broken his pelvis. On the road to recovery is the good news in this, his 90th year.

+1 you are a hero.

People keep saying that F1 was not as interesting in the good old days. Perhaps it was just that Murray could make 2 flies crawling up the glass sound incredibly interesting.

Hope his surname rapidly turns out to be totally appropriate! He's a legend in the sport, warts and all, and Mrs T and I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Hopefully McLaren will make him a nice carbon wheelchair with KERS as temporary transport.

Some news from Maurice Hamilton:

Murray fell whilst on a river cruise in Germany. Fractured pelvis and 'rooted' his shoulder. 3 weeks in hospital but is now home and in good spirits, hopes to be at Silverstone for the GP and sent his best regards to everyone. Apparently Murray said "worse things happen at sea" Hamilton thought to himself "Only Murray could say that about an accident on a riverboat"
hehe

Maybe "our Nige" should pop round and start prodding him to see exactly where it hurts .

Crikey, this might have been a well timed accident.

Maurice Hamilton (GP writer) just tweeted that Murray's blood test has shown up cancer, but treatable cancer. Detected early enough I would guess.

Get well soon.

Lymphatic system cancer found in the tests after his fall. Taking treatment and won't be at the British GP. It has been found early, it's 'mild' and treatable.

Indeed.

Hope he will be in good health to return to the British GP next year.
