It is excellent, if the BBC make one like that it would be great, but I would like for the first race a long intro with the whole of The Chain being played, and as the song progresses clips of F1 through the years could be shown, perhaps start off with Hawthorn, then go through to Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Prost/Mansell/Senna, then Schumacher, Alonso and as it gets to the bass solo (the best of all time IMO) have Lewis lining up on the grid, and when the drums/lead guitar come in have shots of racing from this year.

Our Dear Teppic meant *unofficial* as *fake* would point at copy* which is clearly not the case.

Nice. I'm expecting someting like this. If they don't have The Chain it will be the crime of the year! Every fan is demanding it.

Nice piece of work...

Let's hope the 'real' BBC intro matches the feel of this.

THE CHAIN IS THE ONLY MUSIC I WANT TO HEAR...

impressive, i will be sorely disappointed if the official BBC one isn't better than this, and yes "The Chain" is an absolute MUST have, if its not there i feel a fan backlash coming on.

Lol, I was listening to the chain in my car today and thought the same thing - they should play the whole song as the first intro, then when the bass solo comes in cut to what will be the title sequence.

If they dont play the chain they will be linched... literally!!!

Kerrang put it on last week I think. Volume up. Speed down so I dont get home before it finishes..... excellent stuff. Takes my right back to my youff.

What you do is keep the speed down until the bass kicks in, is best if you can stop just before it starts. Rev the engine until the drums and guitar come in at which point dump the clutch and floor it! Makes you feel 10 years old all over again

ETA: Even better if when you do floor it, shout "GO GO GO!!" in the style of Murray Walker.

I take it the BBC has got the rights to use footage from recent GP's?

I believe so. The footage remained the property of Bernie's company I believe, and not ITV. So the BBC will have access to it as much as ITV had previously.

It is a very good try at an intro but I thought it was a little bit short.

As others have said if I don't hear The Chain (about 57 days to go) I will be very disappointed.

Theme tunes to sports coverage are something that the BBC do very well - TMS, ski sunday, tennis, etc.

57 days is less than 2 months - don't know about you but I can't wait! And the new rumour about HD has got me twitching to ring Sky.
