My best memory of them is seeing the TWR 850 Estate at Donington 1994 complete with stuffed Labrador on the parade lap!

RIP Tom.

As a touring car fan, his contribution (if not always without controversy) has had a big impact on my passion for the sport.

Plenty of adverse comments (regarding business deals etc) on various forums tonight - but to my mind the photos in this thread sum up my admiration of the man and the machines he inspired. Rather similar emotions when Chapman died.

I was at Le Mans in 1988 and still remember that final pit stop when TW hovered like an expectant father - and then that V12 sang into action- one of those hairs-on-the-back-of-the-neck experiences....

A real character, filled with crafty ways to win and will be missed by all. He did not look well in September and obviously has failed to beat the big C. A shame and a massive loss to all racing fans and drivers worldwide.
