Britcar Night Race 18th November
Discussion
Hi guys,
The Brands Hatch website is a little sparse on details.
They say that you qualify as the light fades and then you race into the night... Is it a 4 hour endurance race or similar format. I guess what I want to know is when does the race start and when does it finish
I would guess it is not an open paddock as it could get a bit hairy in the darkness. I certainly intend on being there, I just need to prime the good lady (so to speak)

I am guessing being a 4 hour race it will finish 4 hours after the startThe Brands Hatch website is a little sparse on details.

Well, it's not a 4 hour race as Tracksides post confirmed - so your point is?

We have to comply with the 18.30 curfew at Brands Hatch, but cannot start night qualifying until it is technically "dark". Each driver must get three laps in darkness to qualify for the race.
The curfew at Donington is less stringent, so we can have a longer race.

I kind of guessed that the local residents would not be too enamoured with a race that stretched into Saturday night.
Needless to say I think it's a great idea & I'm really looking forward to it.
Shame it isn't on the GP circuit - that would have been awesome.
Went to Brands Hatch today.
I didn't get there until 3pm as I was with my 5 year old daughter.
Watched the Britsports race - just 5 cars but the commentary mentioned that many cars were currently being built and a field of possibly 30 was expected next year. They made all the right noises and looked good.
15 cars lined up for the Britcar Night Race. I was fearing the worse have read about the poor turn out at Donington. I watched the Qualifying from 4pm to 4.45pm and then just the first 15 minutes of the race (it was at this point the 5 years old started to suffer from Hypothermia)
I was very impressed, some nice machinery and it was great seeing Brands as the light faded.
I'll definitely be coming to see you guys next year.
