here the fastest lap at the Nordschleife in 08:33 min. ever been driven by one of our driver training participants:

www.race-training.com/videos/nordschleife4.wmv

car: 470 hp Techart Porsche 996 Turbo, driven on May 6th, 2007. Anybody to beat this time? :-)) I'm joking!

Here the instructions are given in German as it was a German participant. English is also possible of course.

He started the training arround 10:00 minutes and improved his lap time by more than 60 seconds!

Oliver

Well it was not his first visit to Ring but he had less than 25 laps before our training. We did 17 laps (6 on Saturday evening and 11 on Sunday). He booked me exclusively for that training and improved constantly the last laps were a little bit slower as we had too much traffic. For a novice this time is not bad.

Best regards

Well 8:33 min. in the public for someone who has done less than 50 laps on the Nordschleife is pretty fast. Remember that there is always some traffic and one crash at the "Brünnchen" where he had to slow down. There you easyly loose 2 seconds or more. Without traffic he could have gone 8:30 min. or faster.

pdd144c: Which car did you go below 9 min.?

Well I hope he'll take part in the training again, so we can improve the time.

If anyone wants to beat that time feel free to book a training. I have more than 4.000 laps in coaching and racing and I can give you good tips to improve your lap time.

what is the best simulator to learn the circuit? GT3/4 or something else? also what would be a good car to learn it in? ie not something with big wings and slicks but something that requires a little bit more driver skill? hoping to take the 205 there in spring 08 (or whenever its built!) so knowing which corners are coming up when would be an advantage!.......

Well video games are not the same as personal practice on the track. Video games will not give you any feedback on any driving mistakes you make. You can not feel crests, buppery passages, oversteering, understeering, etc. Video games are just helpfull to learn which turns will come next but they are no substitute for practicing with your own car on the track. An instructor like me who hase done a few 1000 laps can give you usefull information to avoid driving mistakes.
