A1 in Yorkshire needs work

Across North Yorkshire, the A1 has some bottlenecks.
Some bits are spiffy new three lane, some is old
two lane.
The two lane badly needs upgrading.
The problem is exacerbated by the folk of
Yorkshire being unable to drive on the left.
The road doesn't have much capacity, and it has
much less once a dozen locals clog up the right most lane.
