Help - Switzerland to Monaco best route
Discussion
I'm going to Europe next month for a bit of a car-themed holiday in my C63 AMG.
The first couple of days is in Germany with a visit to the AMG Factory in Affalterbach where I've managed to arrange a VIP tour
I'm then driving through Switzerland and down to Monaco (to keep the missus happy) over the next 2-3 days and just wondered what the very best driving roads are on that leg - I'm thinking of taking a (large) detour to drive on the Col de Turini. Has anyone done this and is it worth the effort or can anyone suggest the best route to take?
Following this I'll be making my way back up north and stopping over in Geneva for the motorshow so again, any suggested routes would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Andrew

Since you're up at Affalterbach I'd try to include a run over the Grossglockner even if it meant an extra day. The scenic/fun route from Switzerland to Monaco follows the arc of the Alps down through France although your co-driver may prefer going via the Lakes....
In Switzerland head for Andermatt (a good stop-over), and the many passes in that area then head to France via the Grand and Petit St.Bernard passes (avoid the tunnels!) and then either follow the Route des Grand Alps (google it if you want serious mountain passes) down to Monaco or take the brilliant N85 if you prefer a faster route.
Turini is great - well worth a visit - check out the nearby wider col de braus too.

Beware there is rather a lot of snow on the high passes in Switzerland (and, I guess neighbouring countries). I doubt it will be gone in a month

Good point, I didn't read the OP's post properly! I've found this useful in the past:

Turini isn't all that high so it should be ok. N85 will be fine as it's a main road.
Whenever you are doing this trip, enjoy the SOUND of your C63 :-))) We have been to Affalterbach many times, great visits, next will be
in autumn with some arranged SLS-drives......
You might also get from the Automobile Club Monaco some maps where previous Rallies were effected, great drives :-))) and have a good
look at your rear tyres ;-)

I agree with DOM Andermatt is a good place to head, I would cut through the Black Forest on the B500 on the way down
I have a google map of the passes http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&am... which might help
