I had wanted one of these from the day they were launched, I was in school then, but I had promised myself one as soon as I had enough money, so when I was offered a 'plus' version (only 62 plus's came to the country) in a colour combo that makes it one of only 8-9 RHD models added to the fact it only had 36k miles on the clock, I agreed to buy it pretty much unseen from the enthusiast RS246.com owner over the phone, and then couldn't sleep due to the excitement.

I've owned the car nearly one and a half years now, I love the brutal performance that it can deploy no matter what weather condition, I like the way it looks and sounds, my only complaints are that the interior is not as nice as the E39 M5 and you do feel the weight at the front.
But I knew all that before I bought it, and still chose it over the E39 M5, or E60 even as I paid E60 M5 money for it, anyway.

Mods:

MRC Tuning Stage Two package
Full Milltek Including Downpipes
Custom Engine Map
Gearbox Map
MRC Filters
RS 2 Spark Plugs

The dyno numbers, 535PS/844NM are backed up by my VBox numbers which are a lot quicker than stock.
Considering these were done in the soaking wet (Wheel spin from a quattro) with a passenger, I am happy with a 4 second dead to 60 and sub 10 sec to 100, I could probably shave 0.1/0.2 off if I tried again in the dry without a passenger, but haven't bothered.

Other spec includes
H&R Coilovers
Hotchkis Anti Roll Bars (Make the car 65% stiffer)
Full 390MM C6 RS 6 V10 Brake Upgrade

Photos, if you’re still awake.

This is a really short write up as I need to get to a sandwich shop for lunch before it closes! So I will leave you with photos and if anyone has any C5 RS 6 questions, please do ask.
Engine after a clean and application of Aerospace 101

Parked up next to my dream car at the Nurburgring last April, a 997 GT3 RS.

What delivery charges..? And it still does 0-60 in 4sec in the wet, with a washing machine in the back! Not that you’d ever need to.

I took this shot after the police stopped a whole load of us RS/R8 owners in Belgium for speeding, car had done a good few miles, I actually like it dirty as much as I like it clean.

The ‘ring

I also took the car back to the factory it was made in, with a whole load of other Audi owners. The formation (by pure chance) is V10,V8,V10,V8, spooky…

Me trying to be arty

Thanks for reading.

Thats lovely - I have a thing for fast estates and this and its generation rs4 tops the pile for me.

Great upgrades too - bet the car will happily perform most tasks asked of it, with the exception of fuel economy of course - just how bad is it btw?

Anybody want to swap one for a hawkeye impreza estate... hah.

Around town it does 11-14 MPG, and on run it will do 22, 24-5 if you drive like a granny. It was my daily driver and I did 13k miles in 12 months, I now have a company car that does 78.5 MPG, so the RS 6 hardly moves nowadays, when I renewed my insurance I estimated my mileage to be 4k PA. I’m looking to swap it for a 997 Turbo this year. I’ve just put Michelin Pilot Super Sports and new brakes on it recently, so I want to enjoy it a little before I do move it on for the Porka.

One of my all time favourite car this. I had a play with one at Brands Hatch a while back and it was certainly fast. I do remember plumes of smoke coming out of his wheels when he stopped in the pits though. Pretty heaving to be throwing round a track mind.

I also think that shape has aged incredibly well, such a great design. Huge tuning potential as well. I looked at the S6 a while back but opted for something else in the end.

I think an RS6 could be the next mode of family transport smile

Superb car, get some more pictures up please OP>

This colour looks fantastic! Probably the nicest RS6 I've seen.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'll post some more photos of the RS 6 tonight.

The D2 S8 was the better car, I didn't sell it, some gits stole it from an Audi specialist, but that's a story for another thread.

The S8 was/is better in every possible way bar performance. It was lighter, MUCH better made, the interior was just solid and not cheap like the C5 interior, the S8 recaro seats were a million times more adjustable and comfortable, it even handled better. The only thing the RS 6 does better is speed.

I'm actually buying myself another D2 A8/S8 as I miss mine so much, I'm going to justify it by saying it is a present for my dad's birthday in April, but it will mean I get to use it whenever I like as he drives 1/2 times a month and bikes it everywhere else. I've had three D2's now as well as a C5 S6.

Here are a few photos of the S8, I really do miss it.frown

Awesome thread and awesome cars.

I think I will most likely move from my Impreza to a RS4/6 as my next car.

That is one stunning looking RS6. As others have said, more pictures required!

I instantly recognised that Belgian parking area as well, though thankfully not from being pulled over by the rozzers!

That does look amazing. I love the RS6 but the D2 S8 is on another level of cool altogether! The D2 A8 and S8 are the pinnacle of Audi's post Ur Quattro achievements. Everything else since has been trying to repeat the brilliance of those cars but I'm not sure they've reached it yet!

Here is my A8 4.2. With S8 Avus alloys and interior.

The best C5 RS6 in the UK by a country mile, gorgeous colour combo. Love the S8, it looks like Cactus green ?
