TA22 Toyota Celica - the a hedge find...
Discussion
Well I say hedge, it was in a garage underneath this lot:

So firstly a bit of background, the car is actually my wedding present from my new wife (as of 12th Sept), a friend of hers had not touched it in years and knew that I liked a project and a challenge. After many discussions (which I was not part of), an agreement was reached and a liberation party dispatched to pull it from it's hiding place. I was then surprised with it before the big day as she couldn't wait any longer!![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
By all accounts it's relatively rare and one of only a handful in the UK. Biggest challenge is definitely going to be sourcing parts. Having just got back from a brief honeymoon the hunt has already begun - strangely I wasn't allowed to start looking while we were away!
Some pics of the car in question:

Plan is to eventually get it looking like this:

Will try and keep this thread up to date with progress - first job is to give it a damn good clean and assess the initial parts list required - wish me luck!

Love it.
There's a cream / white one that's been attending the Japanese car shows this year - it's fantastic. Slightly different as it's an RA25 GT2000 liftback.
Link to album so I don't clutter your thread with images of other cars: http://imgur.com/a/WOSNG
Will be watching this thread with interest![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Amazing! And congratulations to you and your new wife.
My dad also had one of these long before I was ever around, his had a slightly dubious Win Percy connection which I never 100% believed but it would be awesome if it was true, even so it still makes for a funny story.
Good luck with the parts search and build, this thread's well and truly bookmarked.

Wow, fantastic present!
New wife seems to have good sense too - all I did was part with toys after I met my missus!![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)
Nice to see yours has a twin-cam - IIRC most didn't have that.
Comes from an era when cars were distinctive - good luck with the restoration!![thumbup](/inc/images/thumbup.gif)
Looking forward to seeing how it develops.
