Its a pretty much bolt on job on the VX. From a Chevy Cobolt SS with an adapter plate bobs your uncle.

Was a great car but hard nosed financial decision to sell it. Lost about 3k in value about a week after I sold it!
love that!!! so neat, how much power does tha give???

240Ish bhp and only 850kg. Its about the best car I've ever driven. I ran stock suspension so on a typical b road you'd be into atoms/caterfields to keep up. Or a z4m with a big Feck off supercharger biggrin
good god.... that must be insane!!! youve got to do it again!!!! how about the motor itself, it is a solid platform?? roots type blower give boost at idle i think!!! lol they are notoriously hard on the motor however... was your reliable??

Mine was 100% perfect and still is with the new owner. They use a bit of oil and I think it pays to leave them at a standard charger and chargecooler level of tune. Much more and you need to be doing rods etc. They are on the whole fairly reliable but a lot of them have warped heads/blown gaskets etc. If I did do it again I'd probably get the rods done for peace of mind. Theres a chance I might sell the yellow one at some point and get a suitable base car to charge, or I might wait for an SC car to come up for sale. Pretty happy with my latest VX at the moment its very nice.
i ALWAYS wanted the vxr240 i think it was called!! i yearned for one of those, great car and i much prefur them to the elise imo....

here is the catch can in question, i imported this one in from the usa and it really is a gorgeous piece of kit, it has its own dipstick and proper R & D into it, take a min to read this, its really interesting and just look at the design of the unit itself..... overkill.... probably....

couple more engine bay pics..... (cant wait to get this thing out sunday)

added billet dipstick for some engine bling.

During winter i havent spent much time on things really and it sat under the cover bar a few sunny days i ran out in it.... most time has been spent on general maintenance, the new baby as kept me busy really but it came at a good time when the car was away anyway so im finally getting round to normal life again :-) The last time i drove it i was genuinely shocked by the power in cold weather, it was nothing short of balistic, 1-3 are wheelspin :-)

next stage of this in 2012 is to drop some serious weight and just enjoy the thing really.... its been a joy to own for sure and i continue to love and enjoy her... except now iv got a little boy to share it with.... so excited about the times ahead...

Thought id better update this....

The car was uncovered and out strutting its stuff at a recent sprint event....
Shes running absolutely perfectly and ran all day in 30 Deg C heat, never missed a beat.....

In the year this hasn't been updated, the car have competition 3 way Kw dampers, uprated bushings, competition Vt engine mounts, RTAB limiters, Braided clutch lines, and quite a few different bits that i cant remember.... life has taken over so havent been getting out to much... this car is constantly referred to as a show car.... its super clean but used and enjoyed properly on the nicer days :-)

here a clip of her getting off the line, this run was aborted due to the poor time!!

Amazing car thumbup

But why the hard top on a dry sunny day?!
i always leave the hardtop on during trackdays or sprint days...... with the roof off the drag slows me down too much.... looool!!

its off right now however during normal weekend use....

Can you remove the link to the Aplina rear bumper image, or change it to a different image host? The site it's hosted on is compromised and it keeps setting off the Phishing alert on Google Chrome for me.

i thought id better update this.......

she is still alive and kicking.........

i've been struggling for the last 2.5 years to drive the thing, became a parent and ended up being a full time lone dad (FML) so the car has really had to take a back seat, but i vowed to myself i would absolutely keep this thing, she will never leave me, my son is now nearly 3 and we are much more stable and in a routine that actually allows me to have a life (finally).... The car has had some use, couple of track days but nothing worth mentioning, im hoping his will be our YEAR!!! so... while shes been laid up, ive made a few changes.

First change i made is to get rid of the o.e 19" CSL wheels, they look awesome, they are light BUT... i got sick of seeing over other z4/bmw with reps of them, so i sold them and swapped into my track wheels which are oem 18" e9x m3 wheels, took me ages to get a good set and had to do some serious travel to get them, offset wise they are rather aggressive for the z4m but with my track biased suspension/Geo, they work and work well , tyres are ad08R which ill put on once the cars out of storage ( dont want to flat spot them while shes sitting) , also i went back down to 18" for a better ride and cheaper tyres..

The car has some further tweeks and is making a touch more boost now again i will update with some new power figures....

The car is about to be treated to some lovely tillet carbon b5 seats :-) for reference the stocks seats weight in 45kg EACH, compared to the 5kg Each for the tillets..
(NOT my image, googled for seat model reference)

Me and the Zed's chapter is far from over ..... i will update with the seasons changes, their a few coming..... she is serviced and ready to go, so come march, ill MOT, Tax and get ready to get to my first track day :-)

heres another z4m that went the turbo route running 6lbs of boost running vanos delete kit, still stock motor.... this car made 600hp....
