Bloody hell! Talk about back to the grind stone! Been back for a nearly three weeks now and just worked non-stop.

Anyway, Finally got around to finishing off this little tale:

We ended up sacking off those wooden churches, They seemed to be about 60-70 miles away close to the ukraine border. With the state of the roads and lack of decent hotels we decided to get straight off the Budapest. Heres a few pics from the journey:

Seems like everyone cleans there cars on sunday here too!

'part from this guy^

Some hand painted adverts going though a town.

Drum bun, Presume that means 'see ya in romanian. Not sure why but that always tickled me.

In hungary, Felt a bit like northern france. Suddenly there were proper roads. To be honest it all felt a bit boring frown

Budapest, st, Everything feeling really expensive all of a sudden!

Our room on a boat, bit stty to be honest. Woke up to utter deluge. Decided to get out of budapest and crack on to czech.

Stopped for some fuel. some thing crazy like 330 hungarian beans for the £. How does twelve grand to fill an MX sound?

Good breakie though!

Also, I got a new tatoo...From a crisp packet.

On to the Czech Repulic...

Stayed at a little place called cesky krumlov just over the border. Very impressed by Czech, Beautiful countryside and towns, Reasonable food, hotles, and obscenely cheap beer

"This might be a good place for later luv?"

Amazing beer gardens by the river :-)

Off to germany and the 'ring next!

This misses getting her toe down on the autobahn despite the bad camberg.

The area around the nurburgring is STUNNING. Some fine metal around too! a few that took my fancy:

Getting ready to give it a bash:

The misses had the first lap, good driver but really has no idea about what line to take:

After a couple of laps i started to get my eye in!

brilliant experience, the mx was great. bit sort on power on the uphill sections but i felt we were holding our own towards the end. Only porsche turbos and M3 CSL's overtaking etc. Got a vid I'll upload if you want boring to death!

Tiring work!

Fleet of M3's ready for the ring, Just parked up close to where we were staying.

Stayed in a little place really close to the ring, was a 14c converted mill.

After the 'ring it was just a case of blasting home. Good things to look back on from the ferry.

Got stuck in a massive jam 10 mins out of Dover, Welcome home eh?!

Really enjoyed reading that, myself and a mate did a similar tour recently in my E30. They've changed the ring cards already!

I hear what you mean about the power going uphill, only thing I thought my E30 could do with (apart from brakes actually - two things biggrin) was a bit more power, I had to give in to the local in the opel people carrier (he was flying though) on the uphill section of the track...

I've been dreaming of doing a trip like this for about the past decade. Time to start moving things around financially to make it a reality I think.

Looks like fantastic fun thumbup

Sleeper, We had nearly 30 days in total smile

Patmahe, Tell me about it! not a cheap trip but not as much as you might think. We stayed in some fancy places and ate well. A couple of mates could do it cheaper, But then what you saved slumming it you'd probs spend the save on beer anyway!

Grayham, The world would be a much duller place without stag do's for sure cool

can i ask what offset your bbs are? I've a similar set from an e30 that are et30, but the wheels they would replace on the mx5 are et45. Lovely trip, very envious!

Thought those corners looked familiar smile.

I'm still yet to try it out and I only live 10 miles away! Looks a hoot the MX-5 though smile.

Great photos and smart looking car Scho! Good to see a car related adventure like that too! I have just picked up a 94 1.8 in the same colour, except it has the rubbish factory rear spoiler and nasty looking wheels, so yours is definitely a good influence smile

I am not jumping on the numberplate police thing, but what are the rules for stick on plates? I only ask as I think it really tidies up the front on yours and I would like to do the same.

Think it's a no no legally BUT i don't get any bother.

I've been pulled in the car and had no feedback too.

Does look better + weightsaving!
