E46 M3 - The entire build from stock to Nurburgring.
Discussion
I'm happy to report the car returns from Spires and everything is all very well. Ride height has been raised 4mm at the damper to increase traction, and in turn we might dial back a bit of camber on the front, but as the car currently steers from the front end like nothing else even without a splitter, we're trying to leave the balance where it is as I'm very happy with the way it turns.
However, Matt's plan is to get some wings and splitters on this, as our testing at the 'Ring initially proved there were seconds to gain with wings and splitters in the right way. A rear wing made the car FEEL better, but the addition of a front splitter made the car PHYSICALLY quicker round the full lap, but reduced top speed. So bluntly put, does it become nicer to drive, or faster and more difficult? I say the latter, personally.
Wings. The Group 4 BMW wing seems to be the wing of choice amongst the money-no-object crowd, and some internet readings suggest this is because it's adjustable but low drag, so ideal in that sense. But a tiny lip might honestly be enough. Gurney Flap on a CSL bootlid perhaps?
