Jez, your edit makes your post a bit better, but rather than just saying I am wrong, explain why I am wrong. This is a learning exercise for me after all. I respect your knowledge and value your friendship and would like to learn the technical stuff from you but I believe no-one in this country has tried what I am trying so give me a break and help.
I don't believe what you are doing is a worthwhile expenditure of your energy.
You don't seem to understand that your car will be absolutely and without doubt totally undriveable at any speed and under any conditions.
If you respect my knowledge then please respect what I'm trying to tell you.
I started with super chargers I know what their useable limit is, and it's not even close to 1000 hp. You know this.
Now if you said you want to create a 1000hp Whipple drag car to do 10s then I'd say your on the right track but as a daily useable car you are absolutely not.
You will never, ever be able to use first gear to pull away even in the dry. You'll have to slip second instead using a clutch that is either very grabby, very heavy or needs replacing every couple of thousand of miles. By 2.5k you'll be off the gas, less in the wet for fear of spinning off into the bushes. 3rd gear will be your lot around town but every time you go over an undulation in the road surface you'll need to watch for inadvertent throttle movement that would spin you off into the weeds. On an open road you'll be able to use the rest, but, see above 900+lbft at 3000rpm is always going to try and kill you. You'll never have enough confidence to drive at anything other than the slightest whiff of throttle.
What you are planning on building is a really really bad idea at the power levels you are hoping to achieve.
As a suggestion, and before you commit why not contact some of the guys with the builds you hold as inspiration and have a chat about what type of driving they do, how many miles a week over what distance etc
Trust me the Yanks only build cars to go down the strip...........
I've written this with the best of intentions, if you choose not to take my advice then that of course is your right but I' hope you will revise your plans

Sorry mate, people keep talking trash and not being in any way helpful at all. I have asked people not to post if they have nothing useful to say. Only stevie has offered any sensible advice. I won't be coming along to any more HSV meets. And if a mod sees this. Please remove this thread. It is pointless trying anything new as it has all been tried before. fk this st.

What? Have you got something to be into? Why can Jez be into it? Is Stevie and Richard in it too? Can I be in it?

I would think 1000bhp would be unusable but good luck too you.

Would there be a possibility of running various set ups? (Road / track / drag) via an ECU and switchable in the cabin?

400 / 600 / 1000 for example? Might make the car more 'daily'.

Good luck, epic 😁

There our loads of people here that are trying to help and offer advice but this thread is in the public part of PH. So you need to take some posts with a pinch of salt... And it's half term wink lol ... But you will only get banned if you keep swearing at people that post things you don't like.. Stick to the HSV forum, just stop posting like everyone is attacking you, they are not... IMHO. I have known the people on HSV forum for 9 years, and they are all good people ALL !,,,,, but each has there own opinion, and experience and advice to offer, just take what you need/want from that.. smile

Why not buy a complete package from nelson racing engines?
Where is the fun in that?
It sounds like you don't really know what you're doing and would therefore save you time and money in achieving a reliable 1000bhp.

I will say a twin turbo set up would be a cracking option.

How would that drive around town at 5 mph in stop start traffic ?

440ci so an additional 1.1 litre over the LSA. R8 as mentioned stroking is not the way to go

Well I for one salute you. Perhaps if you did tone down the reactions ignore the ones you hate and discuss the ones you like it will go smoother.
I love the why not attitude. If man had not had that attitude we would still be walking on the ground.

When Red Victor 5 was being built people were supportive, this no more or less insane. You may well get to your target of 100bhp, but unless other things take place you may end up with a worse car, but it is your car and if money is no object why the hell not.

My interest is in the engineering side and I do think you need to do a lot more digging and planning before you invest too much money and then spend on what will work.

Life would be boring if we all just drove standard cars. My only word of caution is this, make sure that you understand how long it will take. There is nothing worse than having a car you love to drive, siting for months waiting for the odd bit to be made. You end up driving a st box instead which will suck the pleasure out of it.

I have no idea but the 900bhp twin turbo SS (same car) drove fine for the two days I used it in Fort Lauderdale

If it was ever built it would drive fine around town, Mine's (also based on an LSA) only got 820hp and it's as easy to drive and the power delivery is really smooth all the way up to 7k rpm. It still needs traction control though and will light the tyres up at 100mph.

Problem with what he's suggesting is a 1000hp car with a PD supercharger would be horrible to drive on the road. These things create a flat torque curve so at 2000rpm it's on full boost, un sticking your tyres, breaking engine and drivetrain parts and ultimately making you slower. I made a similar mistake by building a stroker 6.6l supercharged LQ9 running 1 bar boost. It was horrible. Here's a graph of what what I mean:

1000hp is not that difficult with these engines, you just need to add the right power adder and in this case that's a big centri blower or a pair of turbos.

Many of the people commenting from the HSV forum have practical experience of what not to do and what works. Sadly our rather dim friend doesn't want to listen but that's his choice.
