Lovely car, always a fan of Seal Grey, hope the gearbox work goes well, like you comment still got £100k running costs! Ignore the doubters on here, I get the same crap as well!

I saw a certain write up about a seal grey 996 turbo in FHM recently, couldnt miss that plate from a mile off wink

Shame about the 'box mate hope its not too costly! considering i'm the same age as you i should clearly get my act together, not buy a house and have an awesome car.

Or have a house and Fiesta ST on the drive.....maybe one day tongue out

I need to get it sorted and get enjoying it only another 6-8 months until I am done at university and can get a buy to let mortgage... want to get 3 houses done up and rented by end of next year! property is where its at currently but whilst I am at uni and not mortgage eligible I am going to continue to enjoy some exotic cars...

Spoke to the garage today and didn't quite get what they meant but they said its good news and just something out of alignment so fingers and toes crossed now it might not be as costly as I first thought. Hopefully have it back early next week and got a mate going to machine polish it for me as a favour for taking him to buy a car. Hes detailed an F40 so I think I can let him loose on mine! must get the pictures up of how well the leathers came up and how much dirt came off...

Property?

Well might be difficult getting mortgages!! I couldn't even get one for 40k and I had a good job and everything!!

But as a long term thing surely houses are a decent place to put money. They've come down a lot, surely they'll go up... Just a case of when, might be a good few years before they do.

Still, that means there's more people renting on account of failing mortgage applications. So if you can do it... Awesome.

can't you even leave your phone alone long enough to have your picture taken? or is it the 'cool look' these days?

I think your nuts investing in property at the moment however you seem to have done very well on everything so far so good luck!

If you dont mind me asking what is your ultimate aim with what you are doing? Do you have a something that you are trying to achieve and when its done you will be content? Im wondering because I am trying to understand why you wouldnt want to move out of home as soon as you could? Are you going to move abroad?

Cars back and the bill wasn't as scary as I thought as it didnt require any new gearbox parts. Its was a diff pinion out of alignment or something along those lines. The box was still stripped re-shimmed and rebuilt as a result of this the box feels much tighter now and of course no knocking.

Had a nice spirited drive back along the A5 and managed 30.4 mpg! Unbelievable for a 3.6 twin turbo engine. Now to get cleaning that interior with my new gliptone goodies!

Glad your wallet wasn't entirely raped. Try and get some before and after pics with the Gliptone kit, I bought some ages ago but have never used it. Have you got the cleanser and conditioner? I forget the official Gliptone names.

I'm very impressed with whoever you too the car to, as the majority of garages would have insisted on installation of a full recon unit.

well my worst fears were confirmed today its the gearbox that is causing the noise so Feansport are starting stripping and rebuilding it tomorrow.

Yes, most garages would have located the source of the noise and ordered a recon Gearbox. Very few garages now have the ability or skill in house to diagnose the actual root inside the Gearbox itself.
