Life with an XJ220
Discussion
Thanks for sharing the owner experience. All cars that give you kicks aren't suposed to sit in A/C'ed garages. Kudos to you.
I'm 41. I had a poster of the XJ220 on my bedroom wall as a youff. This for me is No.1 Supercar. Why? Because a load of blokes in a shed in middle England knocked it up. And it won Le-Mans with TWR.
I was lucky enough to witness first hand the brutality of the acceleration of an XJ220 first hand. We had Don Law visit our works BBQ (220 VAN), and on the M40 on the way back up North he pulled alongside my car, I got a recipricated thumbs up, and when the traffic cleared he gunned it. Menace, Lag, Whistle, gone. Overrun. Two f-off flames a foot long out of the back
The absolute nuts

I'll try and dig out a photo to explain visually for you. In effect though, the removal of the silencers released space for a deeper version of the stock 'drop in' boot section. Such a simple mod, but one that makes a massive difference.

Utterly fantastic car, but one of the worst "Reader's cars" threads I've read...I assume writing copy isn't a strong suit.
Give the fella a break. His hands are probably still shaking from the last drive, before starting to draft any flowing prose...Edited by FWDRacer on Friday 9th September 14:11
Saw you a few weeks ago on the M40 (Loud audi S5 with a goon staring at you driving it). You made my week, a true poster car for me and yours was the first I have seen in the wild. A truly beautiful car and lovely to see it on the road. I got a couple of pics but can't post them at work, I'll post them when I get home.

The article popped up on social media, so posted it.
Certainly more interested in an owners, real world, view!
Yeah. I wrote that I while ago. I was uncomfortable releasing the fact we owned the car back then, hence writing it in the manner I did. Certainly more interested in an owners, real world, view!

Lands End. Epic Stuff.
Is that lowered VW running 911 running gear or anything else exotic?
It started life as an original (rough around the edges) 1968 Westfalia and subsequently had a raft of work done to it to get what we wanted. Air suspension, engine and box raise, suspension tubs front and rear and a 1776cc motor to keep it popping along. As a family we hit the road every year and disconnect. Is that lowered VW running 911 running gear or anything else exotic?
As a Porsche nut I took approval from the BRUMOS team and created a drivers camper... less the wheels at this stage.

Thankfully I'm happy how the written word has progressed my life. It's a bit like bumping uglies; it takes two to tango. Fire me questions and I'll do my best to be open and honest all the way.
