Noble M12 heavily modified
Discussion
been a while so thought Id update.... lots of work has been done to the car over last year and Im still getting it all together... most significant think it still needs is paint but that will have to wait till next year.
Engine is now running on the Motec ecu... mapping is still ongoing especially around idle as I have removed so much weight for the flywheel and clutch (10kgs) that the revs rise and fall so quickly its hard to control idle when the car is blipped... I have just fitted an idle control valve and will be mapping this in over the coming months.
I fitted new spec pistons and these seem to be giving a better power and spool, on low boost its running 382hp at the wheels at 0.6bar flat... I ran 1.6bar previously.... we have not mapped it beyond 1bar yet due to a turbo failure on the dyno but while the turbo was failing it did make 500hp at wheels at 1bar flat which is only 75hp down on what it did previously at 1.4bar so I should see my target 700bhp at flywheel as Im only just over 100bhp shy already.
Carbon clip came out well, I have made an all new way of hinging and holding the clip on the car so that it can take more downforce that the rear wing generates.... Ive also remade the interior fitting by remodeling the dash and making yet more carbon interior panels... also had the door cards covered in a 2 tone leather to match the dash which is leather clad.
Had the car on track at low boost and it was very quick considering the low boost it was running... still got issues to iron out that I am gradually working my way around... fitted electric windows last weekend by removing the entire noble mechanism and fitting a heavily modified one of my own... even saved a bit of weight in the process.
should be noted that I make the carbon stuff myself and its all lightweight vac bagged... I saved over 15kgs on the rear clip alone.
anyhow here are some pics...

As per above... speak to Matt as he was a wealth of help and expertise.http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/
its not the cheapest thing to tool up in... and be aware you may end up with the bug as I make everything from carbon now... even planning my own design of full carbon seat
great skill to have though as carbon is bloody expensive mostly due to the labour involved in making them as its not a fast process and cant be rushed.
colour is undecided and I am open to suggestions however the stripes over the car will be in laquered carbon though hence I have taken the paint on gel in a strip over the front and tub and bonded carbon onto it (yes I vac bagged my car lol).

were you new to it all? or had you done fiberglass in the past?its not the cheapest thing to tool up in... and be aware you may end up with the bug as I make everything from carbon now... even planning my own design of full carbon seat
