Cars back and the bill wasn't as scary as I thought as it didnt require any new gearbox parts. Its was a diff pinion out of alignment or something along those lines. The box was still stripped re-shimmed and rebuilt as a result of this the box feels much tighter now and of course no knocking.
Had a nice spirited drive back along the A5 and managed 30.4 mpg! Unbelievable for a 3.6 twin turbo engine. Now to get cleaning that interior with my new gliptone goodies!
Do you rate gliptone products? Do they do a leather cleaner and feed? If so do you have a link? Had a nice spirited drive back along the A5 and managed 30.4 mpg! Unbelievable for a 3.6 twin turbo engine. Now to get cleaning that interior with my new gliptone goodies!

Ill be honest I haven't used any other leather products apart from auto glym but my first impressions of the gliptone is very good. It gets rid of that horrible shiny look that dirty leather has and give the leather its original matt finish. The cloth is filth after just one wipe so it definitely is picking the dirt up.
Found this thread whilst looking for 996 TT articles - what a lucky lad to have a 911 at 21, let alone a turbo! Thought I wasnt doing to bad to be able to afford one at any point in my life .
Mate - fair play to you - no matter how old you are its all about enjoying life without being a t*ss*r.
Hopefully will be showing mine off in a few months.
