I'm always disappointed by the way these kind of threads often descend into the slurry of contemptuous and self righteous disdain. The OP clearly enjoys his cars and from the photos, looks after them.

Reading through the thread, it seems to me that the OP is maintaining his sense of humour and his sense of proportion too, while others pile in with uncalled for invective. One poster in particular has waded in several times, wittering on about a "driver's car". However, one checks his profile and notices that he hasn't even bothered to list a single car on it.

They are just cars. The OP likes his cars. Get over it.

This place sometimes gets far too precious. In this day and age, when motorists are assailed from all directions, it does us no favours to slag off an enthusiast.

So what if his taste doesn't match yours or that his description of them is not exactly to your liking.

It's just not a big deal. Good luck to you OP. Enjoy your cars.

It does reek a bit like an angry mob smelling blood. It is his money, he is free to do with it what he will. So what if someone does not agree with his spending, it's not their money.

A3 S is a normal A3 with the S-line trim. Basically a sportback.
You do realise if you are going to correct somebody then it is usually a good idea to actually be correct. AFAIK you can't get this model in S Line trim, this came in the newer shape. The S refers to the trim level which as said earlier in the thread is the base model as it is below the SE and Sport.

Also, a sportback is a 5 door version of the A3 no?

Whilst i agree PH is full of people ready to jump and rip people to shreds.

Also the crusaders who come onto the threads and defend the OP every need gets boring and only fuels the thread more. Whilst these crusaders do have valid points its all soo very mundane.

Yes the OP has the right to spend his money on whatever he wants good for him, but don't post on a car forum and not expect p**s taking!

On the current shape that is correct however the original was just a 5 door.

+1 The Audi looks st and the Ferrari looks good, but 16k and looking at a 4k interior and engine swap is just fantasy land.. If he had come on here and said I have 16-20k to spend, I have a run around and looking for a Sportscar with low running costs we would have a good thread, instead we end up with someone trying to justify a fake pair of tits, they look good but will go toxic eventually.

I actually like fake Ferrari and have seen them at the kit-car show and spoken to owners, but to think you can put an interior and v8 without ending up with a 30-35k car when you could have bought a 360 Modena, is just mental.

I stand corrected. I thought the 'S' meant s-line. From wikipedia-

"S line is a trim specification that allows customers to effect a sporty appearance in their otherwise mainstream Audi model. Whilst the individual S line parts and components are designed and manufactured by quattro GmbH, Audi "S line" cars are still manufactured in the same AUDI AG factories, on the same production lines as their related models with differing trim levels. Cars with "S line" trim should not be confused with high performance "S" and "RS" models. Audi cars with S line trim bear identical performance figures to their counterparts with SE or base trim levels."

Fantastic thread, this is like a motoring version of Jeremy Kyle.

I would rather walk around on my hands than drive either of your cars. Surely if the OP had any friends then they would have all told him he was a lunatic for wasting 16 grand on an MR2?

Feel free to continue throwing money down the drain OP, it is amusing to watch.

On the other hand, perhaps I should put 458 Italia badges on my Fiat Panda and cruise round like I own the town? scratchchin This could work.
