My funny Fiat Barchetta
Discussion
Just got back this morning from my longest and highest mileage trip ever .
It's unlikely to be beaten as I'm almost certain to be stopping silly long trips for a variety of reasons.
I have over 2500 pics but I'll just post a selection here of my fave Italian cars spotted to show some of the events attended over a 6 week period.
Tour Auto de France
Coppa della Perugina.
A round of Italian historic hillclimb championship.
The fabulous Mille Miglia ,at the start in Brescia
and 2 days later on the road in Serravalle Pistoiese.
Also spotted these 2 on that day.
I spotted 8 Barchettas altogether whilst away and got a wave from the 2 that were seen whilst driving mine.
More pink pig fun ,at the truck racing meet at Misano World circuit.
and Modena Cento Ore ,on the SS12 Passo dell Abetone .

Can't place the silver car, has Lancia door handles as far as I can, look like Gamma handles but it isn't a Gamma,
I forgot about this post when I visited this yard a few weeks ago .he was closed ,didn't stop me taking all this lot.I realised half way through that I'm not in the classics rotting thread ,but didn't want to delete and start again ,so they're staying here.
Answer to the Lancia question is that it's a Beta Spyder..^^^^

Enjoying hearing about the road trips. What car is this, it looks fantastic and tiny!
You're right about the size of the car ,they really are comically small ,put 2 grown men in one of these and it looks like a
fairground ride.
That crew was 2 Italian women.

It's an Ermini Tinarelli 1100 sport, from one of the 3 programmes that get handed out free in Brescia on MM start day.

I've been to Brescia before, but not for the MM. I'll have to go again.

Completed another trip to Italy on Monday morning in the small hours.
I might do a full trip thread so will post just a few pics here of where I went.
Thursday 19th September ,drove about 700 miles from Calais and made it all the way to Stelvio pass before dark ,drove the southbound
way up from Spondigna and back down the same way as a sign said the road was closed 3km towards Bormio.
Day after..
Drove down to the east side of Lake Garda to watch the Gran Premio du Nuvolari cars go by.
and next day ,down to the Futa pass near Mugello to watch them again.
Sunday 22nd ,up at 4am to go to the Monza Historic

Saturday 28th ...
Ferrari Racing days at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari....AKA Imola.
Sunday 29th...
Who knows where Dallara are based ?
Saw a very tidy building with cars on display on the road between the Autostrade and Varano circuit and a huge sign
with Dallara on it.
Luckily open on a Sunday till 6pm.
1st October ,a Tuesday.
Back to Imola for the Ferrari Clienti XX ,this time including the old Formula 1 cars.
Luckily I went on the Tuesday as the weather in Tuscany the day after was very wet ,although Imola is over 100 miles away
where it may have been okay.
Saturday 5th....
Rally Pistoia....held on closed public roads in the hills south of the city
1 of 7 Seicentos on the rally.
Friday 11th...
Nicolis museum ,near Verona
That was basically something on the way to ...
Saturday 12th...
Rally Due Vallee.....2 valleys.....held on closed roads in the hills mainly between Verona and Vicenza
Sunday 13th..
Last stop before going to Calais
The 100 years of Zagato exhibition at Autoworld in Brussels.
and then I came home.
3838 miles covered with no issues ,although I might be losing a little coolant .
Last stop in Italy before the road becomes Austrian.

Previous pic...
I don't know why I wanted to visit the memorial to the dead of the 1957 Mille Miglia crash but as a huge MM fan ,just wanted to go and see
it in ,actually just outside Guidizzola between Mantua and Brescia.
After that I took the short drive to Tazio Nuvolari's town of birth...Castel D'Ario.
Where they have a stature of their favourite son.
When Enzo was pressed on his favourite driver of all ,hia answer was just one word.....Tazio .
The GP du Nuvolari was originally organised in period by the same men who created the MM and today allows cars
in from the MM period of 1927-1957 and also up to 1972.
