Ah I think I've worked out who you are Phil!

Did you had a White Beetle on Erco's that my friend Mighty White now has? You came racing with us at Santa Pod for (I think) the Retro Car Show years ago

Mine was the Red one. Your old car still looks great, Alex (Mighty White) drives like he stole it up the strip.

Small world biggrin

Oh and your XJ220 doesn't look too shbby either wink

Awesome motor, love the colour and the looks as well as all the modifications to make it a sharper tool. I love that you are not scared to do that, and not overly concerned with keeping it "original". Drive it and enjoy driving it!

I owned a racing green XJ220 a good few years back, it was a Le Mans spec one.

Here is a photo of it:
I had one of those when I was at school! I remember going to the motorshow with my dad and taking snaps of the launch car in that colour scheme.

Great thread, absolute legend of a car. This would be the 1st in the garage after the lotto win without question. There was one at Castle Combe a year or two ago, couldn't get over it really.......

RS Phil - your life clearly hasn't worked out the way you'd hoped, and these must be difficult times.

I'm a selfless fellow. If I can help at all, by driving your old Jag for instance, I'd love to be able to help you out.

Just let me know; I'm here for you man.

Hook a brother up with the insurance payments and you're on :-)

Be careful, I might just take you up on that!

As an aside, as a glimpse into the reality of supercar ownership, what sort of ball-park figure does insurance for these things cost? I assume you don't just stick your details into a compariosn webite!

That almost sounds like a good deal! Even a couple of months would be enough to live the dream. biggrin

Wow amazing car, and the colour, wow!

I remember these were supposed to be really wide weren't they? Id imagine there not as wide now, with modern cars getting bigger.

Sits just under 3k to ensure it.

They're still as wide as they always were. 7ft ish is plenty wide for any car.

Well that's quite reasonable... I mean, a fleet of 10 Corsas would cost me £3k to insure and I think I know which I'd prefer.

Wow, that's the exact one I had!!!
I had that as well, only mine was in silver.

I can't recall seeing one on the road, ever, yet. Seen a couple at Goodwood etc.

OP, amazing, amazing car, I love it, as does everyone else on this thread.
I saw a silver one at the Silverstone Classic last year and (possibly the same) one on the road the other month. Made my day seeing that.

Phil - do you have any photos of it with the lights on? Am I right in thinking they kind of swivel round length-ways?
