Ok next up was the rear arches. Personally i always thought they were too bulbas for me and Ant agreed so we cut about 1inch to 1 1/2 inches off them.

As you can see compaired to the pics outside my garage they look better now. What we also did was shave down a bit of the rear spats to make the lines follow and extend the rear arches by the air intake to make them flow better.

Ok more pics from last night!

Just sorting any small imperfections before base coat

1st coat of pearl! Its a shame as the camera doesnt pick up the colours of the pearl very well, i can however tell you the paint looks soo much better in the flesh!
Some pics were taken through the office door window which is why they have dots on and look dirty!

2nd coat followed by 3rd!

Ok, and these are from yesterday!

Bodykit is all on and i fitted one of the rear spacers to see how it looks!

None of the front spacers are on yet and there are a few other parts to go back on

The spacers i went for in the end were H&R 25mm rears and H&R 10mm fronts. Not as big as i thought i needed!

Hope you like so far!

Ok guys and girls here we are! The sun was out yesterday and the pearl really popps it looks fantastic!
I wouldnt say the car was 'finished' but the exterior is done! The plan for next year is to get my car on a show stand and im going to have to start saving for an interior refresh, forged engine and big turbo!

The work was carried out by Ant at NV AUTOSTYLING. He is based near Bishops Stortford. And his phone number is 07984 180 161, just tell him you got his number from me and he will sort you out.

Also, in some pics, the front bumper bit of the kit doesn't look at all smooth. It looks deformed in places. Sorry. boxedin
Yea thats the problem with fiberglass, its never perfect and also expands and detracts with different heat.

I can't decide whether I love it or hate it? It certainly looks 100% better than I thought it was going to!
Thank you! As its not some 18 year olds saxo it isnt just a halfords horror!

It looks great, but needs to be about an inch lower and about two inches wider track. biggrin
Thanks! Well it is all ready 50mm wider at the rear and 20mm at the front. I am trying to find some 10" rears and 8.5" fronts but am struggling with finging the off sets itt need. It would be an inch lower if i put it on 17" wheels!

I didnt want to go too low as i wanted to keep the drivability of the car!

When you bought it that was a virtual sister car to mine (wheels, interior and side strips were the only differences).

Can't claim I like everything you've done, but I'm seriously impressed by the workmanship and the way you've taken the less positive reviews in your stride.

For what it's worth:

I think the wheels are fantastic
The wide arches and engine cover* do look race-focussed rather than chav
The engine paintwork is certainly eye catching and IMO a good alteration
You were right to replace the interior!

Enjoyable thread.. smile

  • Because there's now plenty of room for a loony V6 twin turbo under there...

Many thanks! The rece look is exactly what i was aiming for and i really cant stand cav cars. Im really pleased how it has turned out and am glad some other people also like it.

I have changed the seats again! I have some BRIDE seats on their way!

To everyone that doesnt like it.....

Thats fair enough, we all have different tastes and everyone is entitled to their opinion. The car world would be rather dull if everyone did exactly the same thing!
