Currently I'm tempted to buy this, http://m.mitremotors.co.uk/advert/201132409735579
No idea why, just spotted it on autotrader and its local. Not sure its the practical winter transport I need though.

How much did you pay? I've got my old one sitting in garage gathering dust, if they're worth a bit I might have to dig it out and stick it on Ebay.
As for the comments about upping the power - sheer madness. They were really easy to tip over at their original tiny power levels, I dread to think what it'd be like with more power. Good luck with the restoration, but bear in mind they were horrifically unreliable when brand new, I can't imagine it's got any better with age.

I paid £175, however this was the cheapest one I'd seen for a while. Wash it, get some good pics in the sun and it could sell for around £250.As for the comments about upping the power - sheer madness. There must be some palm itching toothbrushist would be delighted to do it gratis, only for the kudos of having done a C5.
I'm that sort of person, and can't wait to get my hands on it and start cleaning it! Strangely enough, just saw my first one in the flesh today at a local steam rally/festival of transport.
Looked as mad up close as I expected it would.
Although not as mad as the motorised bar stool parked just along from it (looked like something out of Mario Kart), or the Goggomobil across the way.
Must remember to take pictures next time. Especially if I see another Gilbern shooting brake.

Didnt realise they had gone up that much, do you know its definately a runner. Wife will be annoyed at what a good investment my 130 quid has turned out to be.
