Beautiful. I do miss my 560, aside from the fuel consumption that is. Stamp your foot into the carpet for a swift overtake and you could here the metaphorical till ringing as pounds left your pocket and waited to be spent at the next Shell garage.

Price is irrelevant with this IMO as the condition looks amazing. As long as the OPis happy.

I really admire the no frills luxury interior.

It just have the basic necessities.

Beautiful thing OP. All the best with it. If I didn't have Pork and Puma (or had the space), I would have a W126 in a shot.

I wouldn't say it is quite 'no thrills', this one has quite a high spec for a W126... wink

Okay then not really a no frills but look at that acres of undisturbed leather, plastic and wood.

Mmmmm.

That's lovely OP, wafttastic! thumbup

As an aside, I don't know what it is but I love seeing warning stickers in German. They are for mundane things I know, but I can't help read them in a stereotypical angry German accent. ACHTUNG!

Lovely car in lovely condition. You've done well to find a low mileage example.

Cheers for the kind words. It is a very clean car but does need as couple of little jobs, it is a joy to drive and very 'wafty' but in an old school Mercedes sort of way.

Hi Chris - the SL60 has gone, I needed something with four seats, hence the W126!

Cheers Hammerhead.

I actually drive around pretending I'm the baddy from Beverly Hills Cop, although his was black, a 500 and an SEL but I have to work with what I've got...

How's the w126 going? Done many miles? Many teething problems?

I ask because I've just bought almost the same car on eBay, 89 300se with 54k, only difference it's blue!

Hasn't been used more than a few miles a year so if I start using it when the weather picks up I expect to have a few issues to raise there head, ran beautifully on its first tank of petrol however and my mechanic is doing a full engine/box/electrics service.
