wavey you pass my mini there! Bloody hell that was a cold day that one, I'm using the same tyres as you & I kept spinning mine on the out lap when they were cold, first time I've ever had to do warm up laps!

Despite the worry about snow & ice though it was fine once they warmed up, we had some really good laps in the afternoon

Fantastic post. Has had me captivated for an hour.

Somewhat buoyant on the idea of taking my e91 330i round the ring. Despite it's complete inappropriateness.

What an awesome car, I fking love it and man you can drive! Often I can't be bothered watching in car footage but I really enjoyed that! Loved the gt2 chase, it shows just how fast the gt2 is but it also is testament to your driving and the m3.

A few years back I had a well sorted e36 m3, not as well sorted as this but oh boy did I love that car, and in reality was faster than my evo and Tuscan! It just drove so so well, on pss9's with ap brakes and pagid blues, stripped out, weighed 1300 kgs iirc, had Schrick cams, Geoff steel air box and Geoff steel alignment work (which was the best I've ever had on any car) it was so predictible which looking at how you have confident opposite lock at silly speeds you can appreciate! so I can only imagine what this must be like!

This is also why I keep looking at e46 m3's hehe

Amazing write up OP E46 is one of my all time favourite cars and I hope to be in on every soon. Also do you have a price in mind for your AV stuff I might be interested in purchasing.

Enjoyed that thank you......

Really liked that you've not chased bhp but added less weight and improved the handling/Safety

Lovely Car and very nice driving

However the way that GT2RS pulls away on the straights is madness considering this is already a bloody quick car!

Thanks everyone, really appreciate it. smile

That GT2RS just had an astonishing turn of speed, as you can hear on the video we were just laughing at how it pulled away. It's been suggested that it was tuned as well, so if it had 700bhp we wouldn't be surprised... so awesome! Quite a different monster to my faithful 964 Cup!

I came across a gt2 rs at Bedford in my Tuscan and it did not pull away like that, infact as I was earlier on the power out the corners than him it didn't even pull away that much from me at all, infact he let me past smile

So,I think it's safe to assume that one probably isn't standard when we look at it like that, of course the one at Bedford could have just been badly driven/short shifting/ I'm a driving god hehe

To be honest, a Tuscan probably gives an M3 a run for its money in a straight line, they're not slow either!

Stupendous thread, really enjoyed that write-up. Gorgeous car, before and after the transformation.

Forgive me if I've managed to skim past it, but what was the reason for swapping the CL6 pads to RS29s, out of interest?

Thank you. smile

I wasn't getting the power from the CL's that the RS29's offered, even on fresh discs with no contamination. I tried 5, 6 and 6E's, none match the sheer stopping force in practice. I seem to be in the minority though, most people are delighted with the CL pads.

Ah yes, I remember you were saying they just weren't the same as before. Was just was curious as I run RC5+ on the Exige.
