154k Volvo V70....R you feeling brave?
Discussion
I'm home, thankfully. What can I say, it's incredible.
What is it?
It's a volvo V70R that has covered 154k, hence the brave pills. I went for the Auto, despite it being slower, because I'm lazy, and it was cheap.
The bad news is the gearboxes are prone to failure. The good news is it was repaired in November at a cost of 2k, and under warranty.
The other bad news is the awd system is made from chocolate. The good news is this has also been repaired in the last 18 months.
It's in really good shape actually. The alloys need a refurb, but it's fitted with p zeros all round which is a good sign. It's got loads of paperwork with it, and it's generally been looked after.
I'm in love already.

Has it got the David Dickinson interior?
Unfortunately not, I like that interior. It's beige I guess. Needs a good spruce up with leather cleaner. Thanks for the tips btw. I let my heart rule my head, I know I wouldn't have been happy with the lesser model, so sucked it up and got this.
The interior is Sissal and off black, it was only available for a year or two I believe and I have it in my '04 MY T5. I like it, it's not as dismal as the all black and not as awful as the beige with beige dash and door tops.
Headlight wipers are great, they keep the lights clean much more effectively than the modern squirt only systems and use much less fluid doing it. They probably don't work on a 2004 car though.
Best of luck with it!

Good to know, thanks. The wipers do work Headlight wipers are great, they keep the lights clean much more effectively than the modern squirt only systems and use much less fluid doing it. They probably don't work on a 2004 car though.

That's great, two of the big potential issues with it sorted already, what's not to like. The latest AWD parts are supposed to be tough enough to last.
You probably know already but the trick 4C shocks on it are available direct from Monroe for a lot less than Volvo want for exactly the same part, so that's another big ticket thing that used to worry people about these which isn't as much of an issue now.

Ah, I knew there was something I forgot to add, they've been done too. The car has wanted for nothing it seems. You probably know already but the trick 4C shocks on it are available direct from Monroe for a lot less than Volvo want for exactly the same part, so that's another big ticket thing that used to worry people about these which isn't as much of an issue now.
The only thing I'm missing is any cambelt info, so will be calling the dealer who has serviced it.
