Looks like the cheapest 4x4 diesel one is £14,495.

Cheapest 4x4 petrol is £11,495. Hmmmmmm

Diesel is a bit more economical but probably not as smooth and quiet. Imagine the tax is very similar for new registrations after 1st april.

Like it; reminds me of my work VW Caddy - steel wheels, wind up windows by hand, adjust door mirrors by pushing on the glass, no oil or water temperature gauge, no glovebox lid etc.

I am slightly ashamed to say it does have aircon and a basic radio though, and I bought some aftermarket wheel trims!

It's actually quite fun to drive being so basic and light, as I'm sure your Duster will be.

Brilliant. Exactly the sort of car most of the rest of the planet manages perfectly well with. Nice to see a basic cheapy here.

I've really liked these for some time and you've bought exactly the same spec I'd have. white with black bumpers and steelies. Perfect.

I must own one of these one day

Biggest problem with poverty spec. Dusters is that you can't have air-con on them.

Can only get AC in the top spec - not that big a deal really

Make or break for me - especially when I'm spending the thick end of £10k.

Same here, I'll happily spend the next ten years winding windows up and down but AC is a must

In fact so is a radio, an extraordinary omission, can it be factory optioned cheaply?

No.

A radio is about £30 from Halfords though.

Go mad and chuck one of these in (picture 4 suggests it has added entertainment ability): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lacaca-Screen-Bluetooth-S...

Or go really mad and for almost £80 you get a Kenwood so presumably it mixes the cake too.

Air con would seem to make more sense than electric windows. I wonder how much more expensive it would be to fit the former?

Electric windows are probably as cheap or cheaper than manual in 2017 - don't need to make multiple sets of door cards etc

I love the base spec Dacia's, especially the steelies! I test drove a Sandero a while back but found myself wanting to spec it up and therefore defeating the point - well done for buying an access, which is pretty much the point of Dacia isn't it?

In 7 years of driving in the UK I've never once needed to use any form of air con.

Took delivery of this lovely appliance yesterday

They got the front end of the Duster absolutely right.
The shape of the lights and grill is spot on.

Enjoy it!

I'm so tempted. Have been looking at 2013 models around the 6k mark but with a price of £9500 new it's a no brainer.

My current new car is a 2016 Mustang which I've had a year. Done 10500 miles in it and have never used the air con. In fact I barely use any of the toy's.

There are some great head units out there that are far cheaper and better than what is fitted in many high end cars.

OP, how long did you have to wait for your car after ordering it?
