Where did you find it? More pics would be great.
The boat or the Range Rover? The Range Rover was on Carandclassic website, it was in Northampton, I'm on the Isle of Wight, so I had a long chat with the fella, mulled it over for a day the called him back and said I'd have it.
Boat was in a barn in Somerset.
Look forward to seeing the progress as you restore it!
my favourite car and one of my favourite boats - will be good to see them together...
I started with a 1982 4 door, then 1993 LWB hard dash and now 1994 LWB soft dash - every time I went out to look at buying a defender I came back with a classic RR! (I did also look at buying a Huntsman - but got married instead!)
Do you have photos of the interior?

Missing the point.
There's nothing to go wrong, its a V8, manual box and not much more.
No mot needed, free tax, £153 insurance for a year.
Loaded on to ferry home ok.

It made it home...running on 7 cylinders, maybe 6, perhaps 5, 4 at times, defo not 8.
Absolutely delighted with it. Its very wobbly!
I've ordered all the stuff to completely overhaul the ignition and fit electronic ignition getting rid of points and condensor.
Once all that is done I'll take stock of how its running.
Then brakes need looking at as it dives to the right and I want to tow 3.5 tons.

Insanity aside, this is pretty cool. Nothing to go wrong is a bold claim about a classic V8 Range Rover though.
What an awesome machine OP. I've always longed for an early RR but have never been brave enough to go for one. It stems from the Step-Dad of a lad I was friends with at school had a 2dr which I loved. Alas I never never got to travel in it.
You have cahoonas the size of water melons to buy it unseen. Here's to many, trouble free, miles.

I guess rot is a big issue with these?
They are quite easy to work on - body comes off chassis if necessary - anything Land Rover rusts and leaks oil but they aren’t as complex as some fear… there is loads of space in the engine bay and these early ones are very simple - my 94 model only has issues with electronics - the rest of it is very simple to look after - and the only electronics which are an issue on that one is the seat module
I had a look through the paperwork, found the original order form and invoice, nice to have, its been in Spain at some point.
Father and son, then the chap I bought it from, so I'm owner 4.
Chap I bought it from has done quite a lot of body repairs, very well it seems, and a bit of other tidying, seems solid.
Found the contact breaker points were a burnt mess.
This evening fitted electronic ignition, new rotor arm, new cap, new coil, new leads and new plugs.
Sounds transformed.
Brakes and rear seat belts next.
Then a head lining.
Then change to Rostyles.
Paint over winter.
