Looking good
Any approval from you sir makes me happy On disassembly of the rear suspension I found a tracking link to be bent as can be seen in the next pic
It turns out these Lexus links are quite hard to get hold of and very expensive , so I have sourced some similar ones from a Toyota Avensis , which have the added advantage of some adjustment
The only difference is the cone size on the balljoint
I will get the upright machined for the newer ones and then it should be a simple Bolt on upgrade

What process did you use on that diff plate? Was it aquablasted, dry blasted etc? I've found dry blasting aluminium doesn't leave a nice finish, but it might just be my crushed glass media is too abrasive.
Hi , I dry blasted it and painted it silver , as you say dry blasting didn’t leave it looking a uniform finish , and even if I’d got it aquablasted it would have needed some corrosion prevention finish , and could have got it powdercoated , but for speed and convenience I chose paint Here’s the diff ready to go back in the car , freshly filled with oil and all looks good internally
Pretty boring update today considering the time it took lol
Cleaned up the (fitted as factory standard )stainless steel exhaust , which after 24 years and 186,000 miles had become somewhat not stainless , I polished The under side of the silencers and high temp painted most of the other parts , I didn’t really get a good before picture but you can still see how ugly it was from this one
And after

Delete the silencers, keep the balance pipe, make the cats removable/ replaceable for MOT time ( the second after cat O2 sensors dont have any effects on the ECU tuning pre vvti engines so will run perfectly well catless) and replace with open pipe to just behind the rear wheels. Then add in a small resonator each side with tailpipes exiting from those.
Car will run beautifully smooth and almost silent when pottering about but changes into a lovely V8 howl when, to quote Derek from Vice Grip Garage, you "give it the onions."
Thanks , That sounds pretty good and pretty much what I had in mind longer term Car will run beautifully smooth and almost silent when pottering about but changes into a lovely V8 howl when, to quote Derek from Vice Grip Garage, you "give it the onions."

The progress on your sublime project is one of the highlights of 2020, superb effort - really looking forward to seeing the final assemblage.
Thank you for the comment The rear uprights and driveshafts have been refitted , the rear discs have brake shoes inside just for handbrake operation so that has been today’s job , refurbishing the handbrake mechanism under the car and completing the swap over to a handbrake lever from a foot’hand’brake as the original Lexus had
Handbrake mechanism before and after
