My mum borrowed the car a week ago or so, comes back and tells me she though she had hit something when parking. Cue heart palpitations as I discover that she had curbed about half of the face of the offside front wheel

Cheers guys, suspension has settled down a bit more now, very supple, and much reduced body roll, happy days!

I'm imagining she casually strolled in and just happened to mention "oh by the way, dear, I may have hit something."My mum borrowed the car a week ago or so, comes back and tells me she though she had hit something when parking. I'd be mad.
BMW shadow chrome is on the cards chaps, do not want black wheels, would rather glow in the dark pink!
On another note, buy some bloody coilovers!
You know you want them...

I've decided what I'm getting just a case of when, and rather have my eye on a shiny Eisenmann exhaust at the moment too, which is slightly higher up the list.On another note, buy some bloody coilovers!

Nice car, good to see some other young drivers here.
There are loads of E39 M5s running about on stock wheels in silver instead of the OEM shadow chrome because shadow chrome is a bh to do for most wheel refurbers IIRC, it's a very complex finish to do well, so you might have trouble with that. I quite like them in white and I think black would do the opposite and blend in a little too well with the dark grey exterior; I'd go for a deep silver or keep them white.
Also, the overall rolling radius seems alot bigger than the other OEM wheels, has it affected the speedo/acceleration/handling much?
