Nope it's 250hp standard he said stage one would add only 25 hp so I couldn't be even arsed trying to sell it now but it looks like nobody wants it .. shame they really are underrated cars ..
Yeh the extra 25 bhp isn't that impressive, it's the extra 51 lb ft that makes the noticeable difference. Not bad for £80!

Looks spot on! How much did it set you back? Notice any difference?

Glad to hear it's worked well for you! How much is the TT hybrid?

Don't forget to order your B12s from here, and with the money you save get some fresh top mounts and thrust bearings from PartsForSaabs:

As yet its cost nothing!

Coz they weren't sure about clearing the late model brake fluid reservoir they did it on free trial / pay on keeps.

It'll be about £140 inc postage I guess depending on exchange rate.

I think its a little more settled on uneven roads. Probably in the single figure percentage increase but anything is better than nothing if it doesnt cost too much. Plus, as you say, it does look quite good!

I'm fully poly bushed all round so already nice and taught but thinking about B12 after the TT hybrid thats coming shortly ;-) as the rear suspension ( at 46k) is, I think, getting a bit soft particularly when loaded and getting a bump on a bend does make it go into a funny sideways wobble.

Many thanks for the heads up - I've been looking for ages for something like this and failed in getting the Speedparts unit adjusted to suit RHD.

Just looking at those pics; it's a work of engineering perfection! Do they come in other colours?

All black is the other option on their website

Its a good paint finish - I was going to spray it in body colour but the silver bar is so close to Snow Silver anyway and the blue which I thought was too garish does actually go with the silver so maybe I have better things to do with my time.

I was worried that it was going to come with their branded logo on the bar as per the web image but fortunately not.
Need to order an all black.

Been considering a Rouse Cosworth spoiler, I reckon this could look pretty spot on:

The Saab is due for an MOT and will be making a trip to Mr Wallis next month, so though it'd be rude not to send the car along with at least one performance/safety upgrade.

Unbelievably I've been running stock brakes at stage 5, so that needed to change at some point!

This week I came across these genuine Brembo brakes for sale via a UKSaabs member, the design of which was originally intended for the Ferrari F40.

They're 345 mm with EBC discs and Brembo HP2000 pads and were shot-blasted and powder-coated recently, along with all new seals and pistons.

Also included are high tensile bolts and stainless braided brake hoses custom made by Wezmoto.

Will hopefully be installed next week so looking forward to that.

They should be a vast improvement over stock. I did notice that the calipers don't make full use of the discs. This is because the calipers are designed for a 331 mm setup whereas the discs are 345 mm; as a result they're basically as good as 331 mm Hirsch brakes but look meatier and better cooling. Fair bit cheaper and all for £500 including brake lines, spacer etc. although I've been advised to get hubcentric spacers.

Hubcentric spacers - not sure if these will suffice or if 10mm will be too much:

In other news, raced an x308 XJR last night and annihilated it; I guess on a good day they have 370 bhp but weigh 1.8 tonnes. To match the Saab's power to weight ratio it'd need 408 bhp. Additionally the Saab has the same torque (388 lb ft) but weighs 300 kg less and front wheel drive is more efficient than rear. Bloody love this car!

Received a couple of pics of the calipers from the kind vendor, who has thrown in some free brake lines and copper washers, in addition to giving them a proper clean.

New rear bumper respray begins!

In other news, the Saab just failed its MOT on emissions, new ball joints needed and tyre just past the legal limit.

Have order 2 new Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas and emissions issue is most likely due to an ill-fitting manifold; following advice from the very helpful team at Abbott Racing, the manifold will be straight-edged/resurfaced to ensure a tighter fit.

Hi all, I recently purchased my first ever Saab, ended up with this one, pretty chuffed. Bought with yrs MOT, new rubber all round, and only 56k on the clock. Already replaced DI Cassette and plugs, and had a full alignment and wheel balancing. Touch wood all is well. Really liking the mods you have done to yours, I am very tempted by a stg 1 map. Seats are sooo comfy.

Cheers Lewis
Great purchase, yours is barely ran in! How much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Stage 1 - Just do it! It'll absolutely fly, you should get in touch with Karl at Noobtune and make a day of it (£80); he's well worth meeting and is a fountain of knowledge. Agreed, the seats are awesome, I sometimes sit in my back seats with a coffee to work on my postgrad as it's next to my room so got wifi haha, immense cupholders help also.

Hi mate, I paid strong money for it. However I had a budget and criteria and when I went to look at this car I couldn't not buy it. It had done 200 miles in the previous year, and had been garaged for the previous 3. Owner was OCD and had the bumpers touched up, SID displayed repaired, wheels re furbed and A/C done.I handed over 3500,and he put it thru MOT that day.Hoping I get some long term use out of it, as it's the new family wagon.
For that mileage I think that's pretty bang on the money for a reasonable condition one; as OCD as yours is I think it's a good purchase. All it needs is stage 1 and you have a keeper! LPG conversion would be good too.

Why on earth would you want to saddle it with LPG?

How many miles do you need to do to recoup the installation cost? My stage 3 9-5 Estate used to do a comfortable 33mpg @ 85 on the motorway, that's hardly bad for the size/performance of the car. Plus if your pushing the tune of the car beyond standard then adding the extra ? of LPG. No thanks!
Well I spend £2500/year on Shell VPower. Supply and installation cost is £1400. Assuming fuel costs are halved it would take 14 months to break even. Tony my mechanic is running a 2.5 (bored out) 9-5 Aero with a gtx2871r (400-430 bhp) that runs on LPG. It switches seamlessly from LPG to VPower at 4000 rpm. The way I drive I'd most likely get through a lot of VPower still, but LPG would enable me to do longer trips more cheaply.

Mine is getting 27mpg overall which I can handle, the most economical car I have owned was a e90 330d, all the others have been low 20s so LPG not on list. What is the process for stg 1 map with Noobtube? How long would the car be off the road getting ECU flashed?

Lewis
Literally 10 minutes.

She's back from her annual service and upgrade session!

- New 2004 bumper installed; needed to modify exhaust tip to fit

- Manifold leak fixed; now hitting 1.7 bar and holding 1.2 to redline

- New ball joints

- Full service inc cabin filter (which looked like it was in from new)

- MOT; JUST passed the emissions test

- New Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas on the front

Next plans are:

- Santa Pod in August

- Another dyno session

- Modify Brembo brake kit to fit

- SAS ARBs

Long term plans are:

- Maptun LSD gearbox

- Mamba GTX3071r or 76r, something with reasonably fast spool-up, maybe even a GTX2871r

- Trip to the #Nürburgring (with breakdown cover of course).

Couple of shots alongside a stunning Maserati Quattroporte. Surely the last of the proper Maseratis before they diluted the brand with all the tacky crap of today.
