Nice car, good to see some other young drivers here.

There are loads of E39 M5s running about on stock wheels in silver instead of the OEM shadow chrome because shadow chrome is a bh to do for most wheel refurbers IIRC, it's a very complex finish to do well, so you might have trouble with that. I quite like them in white and I think black would do the opposite and blend in a little too well with the dark grey exterior; I'd go for a deep silver or keep them white.

Also, the overall rolling radius seems alot bigger than the other OEM wheels, has it affected the speedo/acceleration/handling much?
It looks a lot bigger but there is only an approximate %2 speedo error, so nothing to complain about really.

There was very little acceleration to begin with so that hasn't been affected much, as for the handling, now that has improved drastically.

Where did you get that sticker? It's not one of those fake ones that they were making a fuss about on the forum a while ago is it?

I wanna get some car stickers for my 106 GTI I think. Without any mods at all it looks a bit like a banger so I wanna put my own stamp on the car. Got any recs?

I was going to give a sarcastic answer, but saw you were new here so didn't want to come across an arse! (Many will say I'm an arse anyway but ignore them).

Looks good! Be a bit cheeky and get a slightly smaller plate I.e 75% full size, and it'd look spot on!

Iin my opinion it does not add anything to the exterior design but niether does it detract from the overall look - just another outlay for not a great deal of benefit. Would the smoothed bumper also attract more noticeable stonechips?! smile

I agree with skene and think a smaller plate would complete the look, but in the first few years of driving you may not want to have attention from the man with the donuts giving you grief. Who knows?!

Whisper this, but I am one of the very few PH'ers that like a car bra PROVIDED it is done correctly and on a suitable car. I think you car would suit it aswell. thumbup

Note: Sorry if I come across as 18 going on 80 as that was not intended, just trying to provide a different vantage point on the matter. I like the look of your car at the moment and look forward to further updates.

Lol it doesn't look any different!

I think you know this OP and what you really enjoy doing is getting your hands dirty doing stuff on your car. That's what this is really about!

Guy across the road from me has a VW Polo and he has fitted a rear VW badge that lights up red when he brakes.

Spot on that man! biggrin

Cheers James but I couldn't stand a car bra unfortunately, smaller plates are also a no however, show plate with no screws or GB on the left hand side are on my list.

In other news had a list of three things to do yesterday, replace the stty LED numberplate lights which had burnt themselves out, reconnect the cigarette lighter cable underneath the trim and swap around the original engine cover/airbox for a nicer looking seat version, pics to follow.

Shoot me but I want it lower!
