Nice one! That's the easy bit done, now for the hard bit...... ;-)

(joining it all back together again without any gaps)

I also prefer it on the original Lexus wheels BTW, suits the Espace shape better imo.

It may be odd, but I thought it looked really good on those Lexus wheels... smile

Just read this thread (first few pages and then skipped to last few).

Bloody brilliant and still makes more sense than a BMW X6!

Entered the thread expecting to read of OP's pipedream and lots of questions starting with "in theory".

How wrong I was hehe

Brilliant work, application of "because I can" at it's finest smile

What are you going to register it as? Or is it not going on the road?

Words cannot describe how amazing this is fella - really, fantastic!

This is something every true petrolhead dreams of doing with his Halfords socket set and an angle grinder biggrin - hats off to you........

Good work OP, can I ask what the seating arrangements will be, the steering column looks very long so will it be shortened to make it normal front and back seats or are you going for 2 seater only ?

Echoing others comments, I also prefer it on the Lexus wheels!

I'm also perplexed as to the seating arrangement.

Are you making it so the Espace body can be easily lifted back off as there seems very little room to do any engine work if something were to happen to the engine in the future?

Because that is the most confusing about this thread?

It will be a Lexus. The engine, gearbox, brakes, suspension, steering and chassis are still Lexus. The bodywork has just been changed.

That'll be a good one to explain when you get pinged by ANPR in a traffic car and they see "Lexus LS400" on screen whilst following an Espace laugh

The question of the vehicle's legality and the necessity to get it IVA'd was discussed early on in the thread, the OP seemed reasonably confident he'd be able to get it through the approval process. Looking at the quality of his workmanship so far I'd be inclined to say he seems to know what he's doing.

Nope, once you cut a chassis rail, which on a monocoque is pretty much all of it, then you're into SVA/IVA i'm afraid.
