Had an evening free last night so got the fuel rail on. Luckily we know what we're doing with it so had it off and back together and running in just over 2 hours! Just missing the fuel pump and then ready for mapping (again!)

Fuel rail blends in nicely.

You can see it just tucked under there.

Fitted the new belt too.

Now at the mercy of when the chap doing the mapping can fit it in!!

Still waiting for the mapping. In the meantime I bought some inner arch trims from Honda. These only came on the facelift models and really make the engine bay look a lot neater. They go for around £50 a pair used on eBay or you can buy them from Honda brand new for about £57. Just don't forget the clips (which I did) that will be another tenner.

Honda parts are like BMW parts prices. I had to buy an O ring for an S2000 engine Vtec solenoid and was £26. Also if you need plugs, they are £96 plus vat at Lings Honda parts. Glad my Westfield using the S2000 engine, I didnt need much to be honest , as it could have bankrupted me. Throttle body at £1500 , oh how I laughed...............

Yeah it's always the way, I could have got 20 for £5.99 on eBay but didn't know exactly what I was after til I had them. Still, OEM innit!

its funny as things like that from merc are really cheap - couple of pence

and most of the non mechanicals are cheap too (and usually more expensive 2nd hand from ebay)

but when you get to the main mechanicals (like a turbo) they are £1000 from merc and £100 on ebay

madness

always pays to shop around

loving the car though

I think I've seen yours before dude.

I'm hoping to have it in soon to get the fuel system finished and mapped. In the meantime I bought some brakes!

I have been reading all the way through your thread/progress and admire what you have done.

I used to run a Black Ep3 back a couple of years ago. Owned it for 9 years. Loved it!

No i am looking for another before the prices start rising. So watch this space. The first mod i want to do is have the Steering wheel re covered , i love yours!

Happy New Year.

Cheers for the kind words there mate, glad to see some people are still reading.

The steering wheel is still one of my favourite bits, such a nice upgrade for not a lot of money. The alcantara is holding up well too.

I think you should get a pre-facelift car; they're the better looking choice IMO!

Cheers, if only it was mine. 435bho would be awesome. He's running a bottom mounted C38 whereas I have a top mount C30.

Brakes arrived today. They're amazing. I can't wait to get them on, just waiting on the (colour coded) HEL hoses!

324mm discs, an extra pic with shoe (size 12 Hush Puppie) for reference.

Love this thread. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that there are others out there that did what I did. Bought an EP3... Started modding then esculated to spending more than the car was worth and loved every minute of.

Just never add those receipts up... Straight to bin hehe

I went from an EP3 to an S2K and FD2... Didn't mod them as much as I did get the same benefit. Moved onto an S3 saloon and I've already started the slippery slope of modding. smile

Keep the updates coming!! smile

Yeah I should stop, but I love it.

I could go and buy something faster but there's no fun in that!

That's a Rotrex powered one that's got a fair few more mods to it to be pushing >400hp.

Here are few videos of me & a mate in his Rotrex'd Civic showing what a pepped up Hot hatch can do. A chap in a modified Honda S2000 had a good go at trying to keep up for a few laps. The major difference was going down the back straight of Castle Combe up to Avon Rise he was doing around 115mph, in the Civic we were nudging 140!

here we go,

and one with a tuned Impreza STI running 350hp

I funking love the thing, it's a proper weapon and delivers both power and handling well beyond what you would expect from such a car!
