Headlight bulbs changed; gone with the Lunex 6000k ones for now. Faffy, but done. Wheel off job; fortunately the little service hatch is big enough to manoeuvre my fat hands biggrin

Osram Xenarc D1S bulbs removed; passenger side had gone yellowish, so time to change them anyways...

Front indicator bulbs swapped out for the Osram Diadem chrome ones too; looks much better
Not to derail your thread, but what are the Lunex bulbs like? I'm looking to change the OEM D1S bulbs in my G31 and I was going to get Osram Night Breakers Second Gen, but they're obviously 4 x the price of the Lunex ones. What is the catch here, if any? They have the same lumen output 3200.

Absolutely fine; I've run them for years now (E39s, F01, E65 and now my F31 etc)

No catch at all; they just don't have the marketing clout or name that Osram/Phillips do etc...

They're UK made, from the correct quartz glass and have a perfect light output/cut off line etc (although that's the headlight as well)

I've fitted the 6000K ones this time around; but have the 4300K ones in the boot as spares etc (god forbid I ever need to try and change them when out & about) laugh

Great.

I'd give them a try if I could get hold of some - all the 6000k ones are out of stock.

How is the colour difference between 4300 and 6000? Much drop off in light output?

Yeah just seen, sods law!

The 4300K bulbs are very good, I'd highly recommend those also; they do offer the best use of the light, but I've never had any issues with the 6000ks either

Absolutely; the prices are mental (as in superb)

BMW wanted £300 delivered for the cooling system overhaul; it's cost me £135 delivered via Autodoc and that's all Febi Bilstein parts thumbup

And the final building blocks of the parts list laugh

The cooling system overhaul - Febi stat, water pump and stat housing & Gates top/bottom hoses

I've got Comma G48 and deionised water in the garage; so will see if my pal can get the car in before Christmas and get that job done and out of the way

Haha agree Ken; but it won't be me doing the wrestling unfortunately; my pal will soon have it all licked into shape come the New Year

How's the E38?

Good to hear.

I keep looking at 728i's again biggrin

The V8s are lovely but I'd rather have the easy fix / easy motoring M52 over the M62 personally...

There's a few on C&C that look good and c£5k too...

We've agreed to sell the Jazz on in the New Year as the wife's had enough of the car now (can't pull skin off a rice pudding etc) laugh

Shell take the F31 on and the E38 could be my project...

We'll see as an E39 528i SE would be a nice motor too... There's a Jap import one for sale currently, just into the UK and had all the work done / clocks sorted for the UK etc...

Blue velour interior biggrin

That looks nice. Car will be very good next month when you get the suspension stuff done! I'd be interested in knowing how much difference you notice.

It's really well finished Ross; feels great too. No more cold hands biggrin (I miss the heated wheel in my previous F01) laugh

Hoping the car will be better than new when it's all done; it drives fine now, but you can feel the age of the suspension etc

It'll be great. Yours is newer than my car but a few more miles. Mine feels pretty tight but I'm sure I'll notice a difference after 12 years and 91k miles!!

It does; but at the mileage your cars at (same with mine); the new suspension will make a world of difference

Looking foward to it sitting that bit lower too; reducing that BMW rake will do my OCD some good laugh
