Looks better on coilovers, still not the biggest fan though! Theres something about the plain grills on the Corsa D's I just don't like. Which is odd as I don't mind the Irmscher grille on the Corsa C.

Looks nice from the side.

Dread to think what the cheapy suspension has done to the ride quality though!!

I had some GAZ dampers on my car, and although still quite a bit more than the OPs coilovers (looking at list prices on the their website), they were quite a bit cheaper than OEM. They absolutely mullered the ride quality, was as hard as nails.

Good on track, mind you. Then again, it was a track car, so it probably made sense at the time...

Gaz and Spax, despite being commonly cheaper do very good shocks for road and used widely in race series's.

They do. They offer good customer service, too.

Unfortunately their older dampers for the Elise weren't a patch on OEM or other (admittedly more expensive) offerings.

Usable, certainly, but not as compliant. Not as capable when it comes to undulations. I hear the newer ones are better.

It wasn't intended to be a slight on GAZ - obviously their products vary hugely depending on cars and models as well - just an example of opting for something cheaper that turned out to be inferior on the road. I actually preferred them on track, mind you.

I'm surprised by that, a friend was running GAZ coilovers on his VX220 turbo a while ago and I thought they made it ride better than the standard car to be honest.

I've noticed that one or two of the brave keyboard warriors slating this lads car are unwilling to share what they own via their profiles.

Depends if you're comparing like with like.

I'm sure a new set of GAZ dampers would be preferable to a standard OEM set that had done 40,000 hard miles - parts wear out surprisingly quickly on cars like the Elise/VX, they get a pretty hard time of it.

I'd take the OEM Bilsteins every time if they were new, however.

Couple of things to note though - VX Turbo is around 200kg heavier than my car, and it's set up with a fairly soft ride as standard. If nothing else, the GAZ dampers I had were bloody stiff, so would improve handling from that point of view - there was definitely no roll when cornering.

It was more the way the car dealt with bumps, undulations, potholes that was an issue.

One thing I can't remember to be fair was how many miles it had done, don't think it was a lot but not sure.

Interesting, I modified a Rover 75 and don't think I got as much stick... then again I only carried out engine modifications, outside it's standard.

I hate to stereotype, but I'd expect a car like this Corsa to pull along side me at the traffic lights revving like a ****, only to get annihilated by my granddad tank. Get some more power in the car before concentrating on the outside. smile

Nice to see you're enjoying it.

Please stop spending money on it though! Every time you want to do something to it, stick that amount of money in the bank instead.

When it's time to get a decent car, you'll be very thankful!

Looks ok pal to be honest,as others have said,no stickers and a light tint would suit it better, and some original Vauxhall alloys, without the led lights etc.but stop now, wait for your next car.

Actually looking at the above pics,I like the front lights they look good, but maybe thats because there not on? Just don't like the orange led I saw earlier in the post.

Certainly not a clunge magnet.

When I had a tarted up hatchback (had a Mk4 Golf with mods at 19) girls were pretty disinterested in it and me by all accounts.

Now I don't have a car, just an old mororbike and they're always asking if they can go on the back. I think it's the vibrations they love hehe

A clunge magnet is never a tarted hatchback, it's something a bit different. I never 'pulled' as it were in my Golf, but did once when I used my nan's car for going to college. A muddy Suzuki Jimny with vinyl dolphins stuck on the rear quarters.

Yes, really. I don't know how that happened either.

I think you're getting a bit of grief because of the sticker. The car doesn't look too bad apart from the sticker and the alloys, they're actually hideous hehe

I had a 1970 Mustang fastback when I was 22. I didn't pull a single bird in it!
I had a Fiat 600 at the same time and they loved that!
