I loved these as nipper, used to cycle down to my local Ford Dealers to look at the two they had in the showroom cloud9
If that jesus is at the mess ,well you should have heard the noise when it broke at 50-60 mph

The prop is flailing about hitting gearbox, exhaust, car floor.

One piece of ally bellhousing ended up in N/S/R tyre and punctured it ,talk about add insult

to injury.I changed the wheel whilst waiting for 2nr AA relay truck in Exeter services

Saw -12 degrees that morning on outside temp guage .Checkout salt look above

Time for an update.

Last time early November car wouldn't start and sorned again.

2 weeks ago recharged battery, fitted it and it started after doing NOTHING else confused

Taxed it ,went for a drive driving

Still misfiring/cutting out rolleyes

Today decide to go out in it anyway ,firstly putting petrol in it.

It is now running fine,so the only thing wrong with it was low petrol....REALLY ?

Will go for a proper drive and maybe take pics tomorrow

Here's one from last weekend on Epsom downs before snow melted

Went for a 50 mile drive to make sure it's still running properly.

It is smile

Went out to the hills west of Dorking ,Surrey ,didn't drive like an idiot

[well some of the time i gave it a bit]due to cyclists everywhere in 1s and 2s or a

big bunch.

It's so, so cool to see one of these being used properly. And it looks so good caked in salt and grime.

I love these cars. I was the RSOC magazine editor at the time they first appeared. I got to drive quite a few too, some standard, most modified. Great cars, the gear change was lighter than the original Borg Warner on the RWD Cossies. Ride well and very nimble. Just watch that front splitter - we wrecked one on Mike Hill's car that belonged to Brooklyn Garages in Redditch.

Oh - and getting a few very sideways laps with Francois Delecour around Donington in a very early Ford owned J plater.

I remember you as i have been constant member since June 1983.

I replaced the original splitter with a carbon/fibreglass one and broke it 3 days later

I have also got through plenty of Hockey Stickssmile

Yes, very local to you .

I try not to push too hard on the twisty B roads after a near miss with a cyclist

who had stopped just round a blind bend. That was in my old RS1600i without ABSrolleyes

Yes you did.

Stickers divert attention from the rusty bits.

Which don't you like ? The "prancing mooses" ?confused

Time to dust off my thread.

After a disastrous attempt at going on a huge Euro roadtrip in it that ended in Dover on

July 25th.

I finally had the engine running today after refitting petrol tank with a new fuel pump

inside it.

The new fuel filter i fitted has a leak from one end and the fuel guage is stuck on zero

with the light on .

Which means i will have to take the tank out again to look at the gauge sender or do without

a fuel gauge forever more.

I sometimes wonder if it's all worth itrolleyes
