😊 I'm in similar/ same position with purchase 3 weeks ago of a6 avant 3.0tdi Le Mans.
I agree with the off set driving position. My left foot gets uncomfortable. Remedied by using more cruise control and adjusting position.
Mine is a 2010 and has the Bose system MMS. There's a plug in the glove box and you can buy a separate Bluetooth Adaptor to connect for about £10 online to stream music from phone.
I chip/remapped boxed mine on day of collection and it puts out around 300HP. Effortless overtaking and great fun. Bit worried about tyre life though 😅

An insurer can challenge the need for a hire car. Is there access to another car? Would a cheaper hire car do the same job

Don't believe the trip computer, I can regularly get mine to show 47 or 48mpg. Or have you measured that?
What sort of connector is in the glovebox? I don't have Bose but have the MMI 3G+, but would love to be able to stream music from my spotify. Do you mean AMI? If so I don't have that.
I have done 23k so far on my current tyres - Michelin PS3's. I think by the end of July they'll be replaced though.

Well I got the rear bumper repaired and the 3rd party admitted liability so all good there. The repair for a new bumper and painting cost £1182, and the hire car I had for 3 days cost £387.10 per day, with £80 delivery. So for a new bumper, over £2400 - ridiculous.
Recently took the car in for an oil & filter change, diff oil change, air con service, and 4 new tyres. This was at 104,508 miles. I went for Goodyear Eagle F1's this time. Total cost was £881. I did want the transfer box oil changing too, but the garage told me there was no drain plug on the transfer box, only a fill plug. Maybe next time I will ask if they can use a suction tool to change it.
Car is still running faultlessly as I come up to 107k. I am now coming up to 40k in this car, and I have been totting up the costs today.
Over 39k it has cost the following:
£6,079.39 in diesel
£3,717.09 in other expenses - servicing, preventative maintenance, insurance, remap, MOT's etc.
So that works out as 25p per mile, not including depreciation. Most of my mileage is covered by expenses (45ppm for first 10k, 25ppm thereafter) so even with depreciation the car isn't costing me a great deal at all to run, especially if I factor in the company car tax I used to pay in my old job.
I'm always thinking of other cars but not sure really what I would change it for anyway. I would like the newer C7 shape bi-turbo, but the cost of change would be ridiculous, especially as this car has been so reliable, and is still such a nice car to drive.
I'm planning on getting the wheels refurbed in the next few weeks at the wheel specialist in Burton, my wheels all got scratched when the tyres were replaced. They had been sprayed previously and the paint was already starting to flake a little, and there is a bit of corrosion. TWS do a proper chemical strip, repair and powder coat job so looking forward to getting that done so that it is looking fresh. Other than that I am now considering doing a DAB & AMI retrofit to keep me interested, and to see me through another couple of years driving.

I really need to update this as it's been over a year. The car is now on 133k, and recently had the first breakdown; the crank pulley failed meaning I lost power steering and alternator. This cost me just under £600 to repair. The car is due an oil change which is happening next Monday. A couple of weeks back it had a gearbox oil service, including oil flush.
Today the suspension started creaking at the front. The garage warned me a while back that they noticed the front suspension arm bushes deteriorating. Have been looking at costs for replacing all the suspension arms, shocks etc this afternoon. Haven't decided what to do, but full Lemforder suspension arm kit, Koni FSD shocks, and Eibach Pro Spring kit is the best part of £1300 without labour. So I'm to think about whether I want that hassle or if I want to change the car.
I'm still averaging 34mpg overall. I have changed to a different office now, so my mileage has reduced slightly - probably to less than 20k per year overall.

Thanks for keeping up your thread, we have just partexed ours after 5 years and 41,000 miles. It had new Contis on when we bought, lasted 27k, replaced with Dunlop Sportmax; I found these to be a better ride and a lot quieter. These still had good life in when it went. Problems, diff, flywheel & gearbox rebuild, all carried out under Audi warranty and excellent customer service, all in the first 8 months of ownership. Used to see 47 mpg on a run and 27 mpg running round. Had Bluefin installed. Great car after the initial 8 months.
