Lovely car, engine note of the V6 is to die for and it looks just different enough to differentiate it from the standard 156 to the Petrolhead but understated enough to those who aren't expecting it! smile

Alfa Romeo are one of the few car manufacturers who still make engines which are a pleasure to look at. I just can't get excited about the plastic cover fitted to most cars now. Alfas are good inside too.

Lovely car to drive and yours appears to be tip top, fair play to you! The Evo 'just looking' comments are a bit odd on occasion but that's motoring journos for you.

The only two points that annoyed me when I borrowed on were the steering lock (got stuck in a car park, oops) and the squab of the seat would shoot out forwards every time you gave the brakes a prod laugh

Apart from the fact they scrapped this engine years ago and the modern ones look rubbish. Regarding interiors, I was in an 06 Alfa GT recently and the interior quality was diabolical. Loving this 156 GTA though.

I am showing my ignorance here. I am genuinely disappointed to see this.

this week, i've mostly been driving a 146 :/

GTA is currently off for some preventative maintenance, which is costing me a small fortune...

Drop links, ARB, LSD, Clutch, Service... nobodies getting any christmas presents from me this year.

Saw the article in C&SC this month, read all about the faults and the problems with it, I can't remember any of them. Want. Lovely example, a credit to you sir.

For those asking for an audio clip. Bit of an experiment with my phone/car mount.

Rolling start as its icy followed by immediate braking as everybody and their dog is driving around slowly today.

But still gives you a bit of a feeling for the soundtrack you get from this car. To give you a reasonable idea of what it sounds like most of the time when accelerating at town speeds, listen to At 12-14 seconds to the end.
