Stupidest thread ever.

Is this really about some guy who drives a Vauxhall and is so insecure about it that he wants to give it '1000
Horses Bruv!''?

You could also just throw bundles of cash into a fire. It won't work. If it does work, you'll have something completely unusable and that will explode twice an hour.
Funniest comment yet rofl

To be fair, you are getting into a lather about something stuck in customs for a few days - I'm afraid you are going to have to get used to having your car off the road whilst you wait for parts, repairs or funds.
It's a fact of life I'm afraid - Any of the big build people will tell you that, even Rich (who knows me)
I'm just bored and want to play, never really had to deal with customs before now TBH. Didn't expect it to take this long, but now know for future orders and can manage expectations accordingly smile

If it helps my new exhaust was in customs for a whole 4 hours over the weekend before it was delivered Monday.
Think it is to do with the handover from USPS to Royal Mail. Still in customs and no bill through yet. Expecting it next week at a guess.

I believe it is entirely possible with the setup I have in mind to break the 1k mark. Lingenfelter got 920ish on an LSA only using their own parts. You can get better flowing heads that what they used which will help quite a bit. Will read up on that hybrid later smile

Awww, little worm blew up an engine. Who knew? Seems he has an issue with size as well. And bad taste in music. I guess he should kill himself now before it all gets too much.

If you have a cold air intake just add slick 50 and a K&N air filter...1000bhp job done.
THE CAI on its own will make the car have 80000000000 horsepower. Job jobbed.

Anyway, looking at that article there are a couple of things that stand out. The blower is spec'd out for 2000bhp max and the cam is a stock LS3 non blower cam. Also, the heads are not ported. Sorting out the cam and heads will help with the airflow and drop boost pressure whilst gaining power.

People may mock me for focusing so much on airflow (CAI, so far), but at the end of the day, any restriction is just that, a restriction. This is not just a bolt on blower build using a big heat pump.

Intresting it took so much boost. Heard of similar numbers at a lot less boost.
See my earlier comments re. Stock heads and LS3 cam. Major airflow restrictions right there building the back pressure.

Good thing about the LSA is the oil squirters to help remove heat from the bottom of the pistons. The 2.9L Whipple is good for 1800cfm which equates to about 1200bhp. I have heard that the 3.4 unit also fits in the GTS engine bay, so might have a chat to Whipple about that. Not too fussed if I need to have a lump in the bonnet though. The 4 and 4.5L units are just overkill for my power targets tbh.

See here for how much even just changing the cam can affect boost pressure. http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/1409-lsx-blowe...

The bh now whines biggrin Fitted the CAI this morning, going to have to fabricate a new airbox as not surprisingly the Camaro one does not fit, but a quick data log shows much better airflow and an estimated 620hp at the flywheel. Just need to chase down a couple of cells that are knocking in the tune, then get it into Charlie at SRR in a couple of weeks to see what the magic number at the wheels is smile

620 from just the CAI?!
Retune and intake. Boosted Commanded AFR from 10:1 to 12:1 and am now seeing 2psi more boost with the new intake. Stock airbox is massively restrictive. Rev limit is also now at 6500rpm. At the end of the day though, these are just calculated values from EFI, hence wanting to get it on the rollers to see the wheel value.

But who is to say that when you are shifting approximately 1.6 times the air volume that you are shifting now that the new CAI wonder be a restriction again? Seems daft to do it twice!

By the way what's the max rpm of the 2.9 whipple? It would be interesting to see what the max rpm airflow is compared for to the TVS. For example the new TVS 1740 actually moves more air at peak rpm than the 1900 and is close to the 2300 even though it's much smaller!
Lingenfelter used the same cone on their 940bhp Camaro, so should be ok.

The whipple can shift 1800cfm of air at full speed, which is good for 1200bhp.
