Is the oil cooler not thermostatted? Should really have a 100C thermostat installed so the oil only flows through the cooler above that temp.
the filter housing has a thermostat built in...... excuse my rather dumb comment :-)

Unfortunately, I won't be in my car, I'll be a passenger in Neil's M5, but I'd only be in a lowly Cupra R if i were in mine!

I'll gladly video though in return for a quick spin, I'll get some exterior video of you running too...
hi chris, no probs, lets just hope its back on time...... fingers and toes firmly crossed!!

ok s i finally finished.... ive literally just come in from HOPEFULLY sorting my little oil leak, turns out one of the o rings have got damaged...... if this hasnt sorted it!!! ill have another go!! lol anyhow i took loads of pics and did a mamoth clean up......
after three . somthing years of ownership and no salt usage or winter usage for that matter i was pleased to see it looks brand spankers underneath....... i wont be able to tell if ive sorted the leak until my next proper drive sunday :-) anyway enjoy the pics.
i must stress every single mod has been done with no and i mean no expense spared to keep the o.e look and feel, every single piece has been moved and moved again to get the oil look, im happy to say it made 500hp on normal pump fuel, with the high octane race gas i use this car make 515bhp all day long........ this car is insane..... lol........

the front oil cooler and intercooler, oil cooler is about double the size of the stock unit

the offending leaky part, i torqued this as tight as i dared, new orings installed, note ALL this i relocated from stock, looks perfect

im a stickler for detail, i cut down some rubbed to make a buffer for the oilcooler in the extremes of braking acceration.

setrab oil cooler

underside is CLEAN!!!!

conversion piece where the leak was/ hoping isnt anymore

mean

getting their now :-)

cleaned and blacked the undertray

looking good underneath

ess billet crank pulleys

up top

cleaning wheel well with oil splatter

intercooler can flow 700hp

insanely expensive gauges and pod, 3d design pod with stack pro stepper gauges and stack wideband, i spnt big here and it paid off, o.e look, fit and i can monitor whats happening with my motor, note where ive located power socket :-)

finally......

It looks awesome it really does. Maybe tone down the 'look how minted I am and how much money I'm spending' though....

thumbup

like I said great car though!
mmmmm.. never gave any indication im minted, the only indication ive even meant money has been when im asked, and if you look abck every time i spoken about used parts and sourcing as cheaply as possible, the only time ive mentioned cost was where ive spent more to keep an o.e look and feel, im normal guy living in a 3 bed semi :-)
bit of hard work is all :-) first person to put a downer in here so far :-)
anyhow...... glad you got that off your chest :-) but looking back your really off the mark actually so i dont agree but thankyou for your comments :-)good day.

I demand videos! Idle, acceleration, fly-by's, rev matching, revving etc.
lol........ im just ironing out the niggles at the mo namely an oil leak on the oil cooler line....... so annoying as it means i have to strip down the complete front end to get it, we'll see if the latest attempt has fixed it..........

it does sound great as im running straight pipes as well!! lol!!! its sounds like a race car :-)

Love the mods fella! I've just installed the ts1 setup on my 330......,after reading this I would really like the ts2 setup and beyond! I imagine you would tend to use the dsc in the winter given the enormous amount of power your putting down. I have had some interesting moments in the rain!! Keep up the good work!! biggrin
oowww i do low the ess twin screw setups, soo much Torque!!!! I cant comment on the bad weather i iuse this one for the dry weather only ( not much in other words, lol) in the wet its pretty much useless.....

thanks guys!!

The car feels great on the road, all little issues are all sorted and shes running better than ever...

Looking goodsmile

Such a shame you didn't get to run it at Vmax. Did look out for you to run you in mine but never really saw much of the Audi running to put a face to the name.
i know it really was a shame but actually it turned out to be the best decision EVER to not take it that day, not only did one of the oil lines work loose on my new oil cooler, the supercharger unit itsself was damaged by my tuner who swapped to the smaller pulley, it was loosing traction oil which would have sciezed the unit solid and god knows what else....

Now all good, brand new s/c unit under warranty and oil cooler lines removed, all seals replaced and retorqued, jobs a good un and shes back on the road, sadly my new (very premature baby boy) has taken all my attention as i late so im struggling to get out and enjoy it, but hes doing great so time to get back to my z4m.

thanks again all for the comments, im genuinely blown away with the response the car gets....... i was recently offered a very very tempting amount for the car and very nearly buckled.... in the end i simply couldnt do it...

the car is however performing as well as ever so smooth, so powerful, big noisey with the straight pipes but hey.......

I am hugely excited by this car!
thanks AB

Car is booked onto a trackday very soon where ill be catching some proper clips of it running... until then the old clips in this thread will have to do!!!

The car has just had a new map uploaded for more aggressive vanos timing, here she is running with the new timing settings, dont jump on me for not reving the cock out of it, i was simply checking all was ok after the new tune was loaded...plus im not a fan of static revving a car....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UqwEp1U77s

the car now has aggressive vanos timing change, high octane fuel map, currently running a very conservative 8psi. Cant wait to get some proper clips up, ive now got my camera lady back now baby has arrived!! wahooo!!

on its way

some oil hoses no upgraded to goodrich black braid hoses..... they look great.

Need to let some heat out that engine bay...... this item is serious quality, it will be painted leaving the vent sections carbon, this unit is designed to suck air out and create a neat airflow..... should also work nicely with my silver and black theme.

Yes I don't think it'll be running around all that long despite the good quality work. I seldom see too many supercharged cars service the years that are NOT factory efforts. I also think the displacement size of the stock engine might be a little small for a supercharged application. Perhaps a large lower revving V-8. That being said it a neat little car.

While not necessarily a fan of Z4's I like this one. I think it would be neat to shoehorn the v-190 from the M5 then you have it all essentially a German Cobra.
The internals have been taken care of ;-) if it blows, it blows..... i'll just start again... at the pultry 8psi im using... who knows... then again engines fail on complete stock cars?? This is a vehicle ive owned from new and has been treated a certain way, im confident in It and Ess....

Im under no illusion a failure CAN happen, if it does.. i wont cry in my porridge about it........ Were a long time dead and this thing puts a great smile on my face every single time i clap eyes on it..... thats quite simply all that matters to me tbh.
