The OP is only 18. His car isn't my cup of tea but it doesn't look bad apart from the lights.

I like the sticker, it my type of humor. (I'm only 17 BTW)
With 30 years experience? biggrin

Jesus, give the lad a break. When I was his age I was into this sort of thing too, he's shown you his pride and joy and you've all slated him.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother looking round these forums with dheads like you lot about.

I don't think many people hate it, just not to most people's tastes.

And it still stands that the amount of money being wasted is hard to look at...

How did you get your insurance so low?

Bye!

Don't be so sensitive. Much of the criticism was constructive.

Some of it was, most of it, however, was just character assassination:

It will still be a slow corsa with coilovers.

I believe it is diesel, I suppose he could get a stick on tail pipe to make it unique...oh wait...it won't be unique cos thats what ever chav up and down the UK has done.
FWIW, I'm only 19 and it's not much to my taste either but it's not my car and he obviously has a good interest in making it "his own". Isn't a love of cars what being a petrolhead is all about? If you don't like it, nobody is saying you're wrong for thinking that but "if you haven't got anything nice to say...!"

I hope the OP sticks around, Pistonheads is a great place with a largely tollerant community (just avoid the txtspk and smilie faces in future!) so ignore the idiots and have a look in the regional sections.

Character assassination?! Good golly, calm down. You even went to the effort of copying my posts!
I hope he enjoys his car, however, I, like others just trying to convince him to waste money on it for his next step up in performance.

Your young so your taste isn't like most peoples on here. If you like it that's all that matters. Not a fan of the clunge sticker myself, i just don't like the word clunge, sort of gross.

Needs lower to suit those wheels, personally i'd stop spending money on mods and put it towards a better car.

I don't quite grasp why there has been such a negative reaction to this. It's not my kind of car, but then I like big wobbly barges and always have. I think he has done a good job of it if you like this sort of thing. But take the sticker off...

I don't like doing this but... I'm calling you a liar. No way your insurance is legit paying £450 a year at 18 as the main driver with modifications AND points!

I'm 18 and just renewed my insurance on my car, ok it's a 1.6 but I'm £857 with NO points NO modifications and in a A+ Postcode!

the reason why we got it cheaper is that my whole family is on the multi car policy if i didnt do that the cheapest i would of got it for was £740 and do remember that the corsa 1 lite is the lowest band insurance group or it may be 2 with the new system

Am I the only one who didn't do anything to my first car?

I just kept it stock and enjoyed it for what it was.

It really isn't that bad, I have seen so many worse things done to corsas before.

OP - I like the grille, not so keen on the alloys and lights but each to their own. I think it would look good with OEM SXI or SRI alloys on it if that's your thing.

I wouldn't spend too much money on it as you probably won't see any o it back come resale time. I would run it for another year or so, sell it, and then get something really nice smile

I am 19, and you would not believe some I the crap that others my age drive. This really isn't that bad.

No reason he can't have very cheap insurance, I am just under a grand for my E46 328i smile

Sounds like you got a bargin!

Not as good as the OP though. Fair play to both.
