I am intrigued to see how this affects the induction noise, and see what the 50bhp supplied by the k&n filter wink does as well.

Yeah I was kidding smile

I'll probably run a CAI at some point but the fan will kick out a decent amount of fresh air

Hah, maybe!

Things on the list after this refit is completed:

New seat belts
Gearbox recondition with new gears,
New straight through exhaust system with long tube headers,
New brake lines
New fuel lines
Explorer upper and lower air intake (similar to Cobra Mustang intake but cheaper!)
70mm throttle body

Thanks guys, heh I think it might push £2500 now as its the fastest Town Car in the UK after all!

I'm really hoping to take it out for a drive next Sunday if all the work this week goes well. Need to get a custard shot in at some point and start planning on where to go!

Actually one thing I need to sort is a fresh pair of boots for her, the current ones were old when I first bought her in 2006.

So the leak continues, but we've finally located the cause:

That hole you see? That shouldn't be there.

We currently have two choices, use magic metal to plug up the hole and hope for the best - or source a timing cover. I'm of the opinion that a new cover should be used as the one we have is clearly on the way out.

So off to eBay and owners clubs I go to source a suitable part.

Speaking of things on the way out, take a look at this two year old dizzy cap:

Here's how it should look:

Adding this to the list of things that weren't connected, split or just broken I am constantly astounded that the car ran in the first place.

I have found one timing cover for £140, ideally I'd like to pay less than that but it's a good back up just in case.

I've ordered the timing cover, it should arrive from the USA by this time next week so fingers crossed we can be up and running by the end of next week

I'm starting to think about colour schemes now - I wonder what would work on the Lincoln.

Glad you liked it smile

Now that I've got the exhaust fixed.....I'm already thinking about cheap(er) ways to get a straight through set up....I wonder if a Fox stang system would fit with work....

Latest update, we have MAS!

Chris has done a great job of turning this wire conversion kit:

Into a stock looking setup:

This should clear the check engine light, as the ECU will now be getting the right information from the fuel pump and the shiny new mass air setup.

Pending the arrival and fitment of the new timing cover to fix the coolant leak we will be good to go!

All I need to do is get some cigars, book the mot and sort out fresh tax and I'll be back on the road.

Anyone got a recommendation for an Essex based wheel refurb company? The ones on the TC are looking pretty shoddy.

One area I hadn't given much thought was insurance now that the Lincoln is now the UK's fastest (probably)

I've just sent off a updated list of mods to my current provider - how much will they take me for? Place your bets now!

Well its a 70 bhp increase at a minimum and would be closer to 100bhp with a better exhaust system so I am not expecting it to be cheap smile

Is it weird to be very excited that a new timing cover is arriving tomorrow?

Ok so my current insurers have told me to foxtrot oscar with regards to insuring the Lincoln with the new mods - so PH hive mind, is there a classic insurer that takes a positive view of modifications?
