Started the "Dual Fuel Pump" Mod today.

My plan is to have the right hand pump supplying the engine (as standard) but fit a second pump on the left hand side to transfer fuel from left to right.

I have modified the right hand pump assembly to allow an inlet as well as the pump discharge.

I have purchased a second pump and assembly which has also been modified now to take the return from the engine and a pump discharge over to the right hand side

I have spurred of the power supply to the original pump but am yet to decide how to connect as I don't have a spare BMW plug.
Possibly solder it but we will see....

Excellent work bully. Has the fuel surge been a significant issue on track then?
Yer, big problem since fitting the Coilovers.
Mallory Park was really bad as its one London right hand bend.

Think the M3 3.0 is ok however as it used a different system

Got mine from here

http://www.driftworks.com/hsd-coilovers-bmw-3-and-...

They have been really good and transformed the on track ability of the car.
It's a bit hard on the road but assume you could choose a less stiff setup.
I usually have the dampers fully hard for the track and softest for the road.

I don't have any experiance with other types as this is my first modified car. I think from the reviews I have read that the HSD are really good for the price.

Think mine are the Monopro type as they didn't do the other type when I purchased mine.
I don't know about polybushes, I have not purchased any before as mine had some already.

Apart from putting the road wheels back on and touching up the front callipers with a bit of red paint, work on the M3 has come to a halt.
The fuel pumps seem to be working ok...

in other news...

Just had the E46 Dog Chariot detailed.
Think it looks fab!

Having a bit of a clear out in the garage too. It's coming along well I think.
Need to get something on the floor but not sure what to use...

Garage clear out continues...

If anybody wants some spacers, I just put these on a popular online auction site:

6mm spacers

15mm Hubcentric Spacers

I also have a spare front wheel from the M3 and a tyre that will fit it

Probably a silly question, but I presume these are E36 fitment? If so, how much do you want and I'll have dibs on them, as I believe you need 10-15mm spacers for HSDs(?), which is what I plan on getting soon.

Yer, I had to rush out and purchase them when I had my HSD's fitted.
I just put them on eBay but will take them off for £20 (inc postage). PM me if interested

As for updates...

I have just washed it and tucked it it under the cover with the trickle charger on as I have to go back to work next week frown
(ten weeks sailing around the Med)

The rear track wheels have been separated from the tyres and I have purchased another batch of paint ready for the refirb.

Took this picture during a wheel & tyre sort out....

oh and a trip to the Evo Triangle on a very early, cold Sunday morning with Jbaddeley and Melvster

(Pictures curtesy of Melvster)

It was really foggy so we didn't get a chance to take many more.

Small update:

Just booked a Javelin day at Anglesey in August!
This obviously means I have to get some new stuff...

Rear tyres:

I will blast and then paint the rims Porsche Signal Green to match the front.

I have also purchased some more fuel pipe and fittings to adapt the twin fuel pumps to supply from both sides (what I should have done in the first place)

I have just re-plumbed the fuel pump pipe work also.
Now, both pumps supply the engine and the return goes to both sides.
I used "Y" fittings instead of "T" fittings this time too.

It's a bit tight with the pipe work but should be fine!

I hope it cures the starvation issues...

Have you got a parts list for the twin pumps?
Alright mate, hope all is well!

I have done this is stages over a few months so I will try to remember...

This is what I have used...

8mm fuel hose (about 2,5 meters)
8mm "Y" fittings http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/fuel-unions-fi...
a BMW E36 M3 Evo Fuel Pump (I got a 2nd hand one from eBay)
a BMW 318is E36 Fuel Sender unit - which I fitted the E36 M3 Evo pump to (again from eBay)
Hose Joiners - which I epoxy'd in to the fuel pump/sender units for the return hose http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/fuel-unions-fi...
8mm hose clamps

This is my original pump (from the drivers side). I drilled a hole and then glued the fitting in for the return hose.

This is the fuel pump and sender unit from a 318 that I fitted the Evo pump to

It looks like there already is a return hose fitting but that is just a blank.

So, this is the drivers side where the pump discharges in to the Y fitting along with the discharge from the other side

The return hose is connected to my glued in fitting.

This is the passenger side
