I have started to pick up the pace a little with being signed of work and between hospital stays which are getting frustrating I have made some progress I have managed to strip my gearbox which I picked up very cheap and was told it was knackered and noisey in all gears. On strip down the gears and syncros don't look too bad with minimal wear but will also strip another box I haveand use the best from both but I did find the main bearing at the final drive end had seen better days have never seen a bearing fail like this.

I have also been carring out repairs to the wiring looms fitting new connections where required and new sleeving and plastic convulted tubing so looms looking all refreshed still have to get a new underdash loom as its been cut about too much for my liking and I feel there will be too many repairs.

I have been ordering some more parts and the first of these came so big thanks to Farmer again for sorting these parts out I have already put another huge orderin with farmer and baker bm and also farmer as sorted me a set of clear siems so happy man here.

I also got all the parts ready to be vapour blasted and got the txt today that these are all ready and from the pictures they seem to have come out ok so my wife is picking up for me tomorrow as im still in hospital but plan is to order engine parts when I return home and start rebuild.

No worries for everything you see in the pictures cost me £240 and only took a few days the advantage of vapour blasting is it does not mark the surface like sand blasting etc.

Sadly the project has had to be put on hold for a little while due to my poor health that has been affecting me over last few months but it looks like im on the road to recovery now fingers crossed so maybe another month and I may make a start again on the car.

Before my health got worse I had made a start on the engine this included using my dads lathe to clean all old carbon off the valves as these had been leaking and I have made a start on regrinding valves into the head.

The bodyshop is doing there thing although I have asked them to slow down a bit as im in no hurry to get car back at moment as I cannot work on it but the bodyshop has informed me they are making good progress and will prob drop into bodyshop in a few weeks to check on progress.

After 5 weeks in hospital I have returned to these goodies which should keep me busy when ive recovered all im waiting for is the new oil cooler just waiting for this to be built.

With health improving every day and hoping to return to work in next few weeks after being off for nearly 5 months I have finally managed to do some more work on the pug. I've made a start tidying garage up ready for return of the car and also have made a start on the engine the head has been rebuilt I have re cut all valves and fitted new valve springs and washers just got to check valve clearances and the head is finished. I moved onto the block refitting the crank with new shells and liners and cleaned old pistons up and fitted new rings just got to fit pistons to block and all can be torqued up. Few more goodies turned up aswell including a set of original siem spots so happy chappy.
