May I ask where you ordered you shiny steering rack rubbers from? Need some for my 106 XSi! Steering rack refurb (+ quick rack) has been on my bench waiting for me for months! Great progress!
Just Euro car parts mate. Wasn't expensive and both of those can be changed/replaced with the rack on the car. Albeit awkwardly. Great progress - doing a top job!
Hello all,
Episode 23 is now live on YouTube;
What can you expect in this episode? Well, if you cast your mind back to December Id done a load of welding work to get rid of the rust issues. This time round I finished the welding work which consisted of some quite simple new bumper brackets, Lots of cleaning and Bilt Hamber prep. Finally adding some more Raptor Bed Liner to the complete front end.
Going from this;
to this;
and finally to this;
Next steps are to finally bolt some things back onto the car!

Not sure if anyone actually looks in here anymore, doesnt seem to generate much interest. Maybe it's just me that has an appreciation of French Chav rust boxes. Anyway...have a link to the latest episode;
And a few pics of what I've been up to lately;
Mainly getting all the suspension components refitted, more troublesome than it looks. Simply because I'm an idiot and welded in a load of chassis stiffening bars which mean nothing fitted as easily as it came off. Also, because I've gone for silly solid mounts which are chunkier than the originals, things like the ARB brackets clashed. Got there in the end (almost) but it could easily go back on it's wheels and be moved about within a week or two.
Also, had a change of tack regarding the forced induction. So managed to get my hands on this little setup for well under half the price of a Rotrex.

I'm here too
Timely aswell as I've been under my 106 today jabbing at it with a screwdriver wondering how long I can put off doing what your doing.....
Is it the satchell stiffening kit? And what is it fouling?
Yes it's the satchell kit. It doesn't foul anything now, it just made life very difficult fitting things that would otherwise be pretty easy to drop in. Timely aswell as I've been under my 106 today jabbing at it with a screwdriver wondering how long I can put off doing what your doing.....

Its a second hand setup, albeit with limited mileage. The chap I got it from has run it as far as 460bhp but I wont be doing that. Gearbox won't like it.
I'll be looking at a max of 350ish.
Punchy! That'll really fly even with 350bhp, which is going to be around 400bhp/tonne I guess?I'll be looking at a max of 350ish.
Hello all
Not really Saxo related but I've been doing a lot of Zinc plating lately for other people, I also get a lot of questions on what's needed and how to do it etc. I did a special episode ages ago but it was in its infancy then. I've perfected the setup and done a full how to guide here;

Oh, forgot to mention, I've also been busy getting the BE box to fit. Top and rear mounts are easy. The shafts I got are the wrong length and the clutch pivot bracket needs modification. Also swapped out the gear selection rods and have finally got all five gears, albeit quite sloppy at the moment as it's loosely mounted.
All due for episode 25.
