That sir ,is simply stunning .As someone with a bit of mechanical know how (only a bit ,mind!) I sincerely doff my hat to you !The quality of workmanship visible there is superb .
I hope you find the backing you need and deserve to make this available to a wider market - I feel sure you could sell as many as you could make here in the UK alone .

Keep it up ,and keep us informed as well !

Thank you gentleman, for your encouraging words.
I will have the engine assembly pics up soon as they come to hand.
A week off by the Lake and I'm ready to steam into it and get my DSN on the track!!!

Stay tuned.

I think this is amazing. I wish I had just a small part of your dedication and skill.

I do however think you need to re-think the windscreen....car would look so much better with a aeroscreen like a Phoenix or Fury.

Good Luck smile

This why I love PH - it's a chance to get a peek at the projects that embody the spirit of the car nut smile

Superb craftsmanship and vision - all the best in seeing it through to completion.

I am researching LSDs at the moment, has anyone had any experience withe the following brands;

Tomei-torsen type
Quaife-torsen type
Kaaz
OS Giken
Cusco
Nismo

I am using a Nissan R33 diff housing, known to be a strong unit and of abundance in our part of the world.
Any feed back is greatly appreciated.
My blackbird powered Westfield used a freelander case with a Quaife ATB. Apparently the Freelander diff is extremely light, hence it's use. Quaife are extremely popular for BECs here. Never had any problems with it.

Top marks on the design though - looks amazing. It was the thing that impressed me most when I visted NZ a few years ago. The quality of the shed based engineering and inventiveness of the Kiwi was amazing.

Your work puts you up there with Britten in my book thumbup

Good luck with the project.

Like LA, I'm also late to the party. This is the most amazing car of any kind I've seen in a long time!!! To think that it was built by one guy at home just makes it that much more incredible. The design is beautiful, the engineering incredible, and the workmanship looks superb. I'm in complete awe. Many companies with good financial backing have not been able to produce anything even close to this. I wish you well.

Cheers for the comments Miguel, with the release of the Hulme car earlier in the month the pressure is on me, myself, and I to get my DSN on the track.
We've have had a team talk, and will be cranking up the pressure.

I will have some new pics up of the newly completed interior, exhuast and fuel cell over the weekend. The dyno run of our NZ made powerplant due nearing the end of the month.( I had promised these earlier, but only have two hands, and a day job)

I am expecting our car to be priced around 195k NZ dollars( about 100k US). And I promise you, I have made 95% of the work on the car. Apart from the engine which has been designed and built by Simon Longdill. I merely machined the prototype engine and components.

Praise should be paid to those who have had a hand in a project, not omitted.

Thank you to those of you who support my project, and I look forward to being at the track testing late March, early April.

Good to hear about the progress Neil. I've got two Taupo trackdays mid-March if you are looking for some time on a track that won't destroy your pride'n'joy.

Would be very keen to come along to some of the testing subject to work commitments. smile

Another one here late to the party.

Have to say that as an engineer (pretend one at that) in the aircraft industry, the level of workmanship for a 'built it in a shed' project is staggering. The car looks fantastic, really like the way the wheels fill the rear arches. All the best for the testing/track time and hope all goes to plan.

Have just watched the youtube clip of the engine on the dyno. Awesome!!

Thread bookmarked!

Well its been a fairly busy few months getting the prototype drive line all together.
The engine has been on the dyno, click on the link to see 388hp @ 10500rpm.
www.hypercars/videos.co.nz
With the engine all bolted in we started it last night.. fired up in less than 5 revs. I was fairly wrapped as I had just finished my first wiring loom including the ECU and Logger.
.
We have a friends workshop opening over the weekend so I'll post some pics of it all together drivable for the first time.
This will be followed by a short break then some testing at the local Circuit.
Time to get it on!
