Yeah will not make a massive difference but all the changes have made the shift very good .

The solid bush replaces the soft rubber bushings that support the shifter base firming up the feel of the shifter as there is no slack .

I'll see if there's any high tensile aluminium bar going cheap. Thanks.

Can't see it making a lot of difference to a cable change, but every bit helps!

Last update .

I was not over happy with the silver heat reflective wrap and after reading a few things was told that this would not be the best move as it may trap the heat in the cold intercooler pipe .

After some advise I ordered some DEI gold tape as this will reflective about 80 % of the heat but as it is only thin tape will not insulate the pipe the same as the wrap did .

Was a pain to fit but after a few goes it was on .

A few more updates .

My PTP turbo blanket arrived from the USA .

Removed the x brace hot pipe , O2 sensor and the heat shield to get to the turbo .

Was a bit of a pain to fit but after an hour or so it was all on .

All done up and heat shield back on .

Also had time to fit my 3" intake and filter from KO Racing from the USA .

3" Inlet pipe

K & N Filter

Old HKS intake removed

Old vs New

All set up ready to go on .

And DEI heat tape on the pipe .

Only problem was as the new induction set up is much bigger it was resting on the hot rad pipe so some sticky feet were used .

All lined up and connected and tightened up .

View from side intake pod .

X brace and bits on to finish off .

Next will be a trip to Surry Rolling Road on the 14/06/14 to check AFR and see what power she is making .

Good progress mate, really liking that gold tape! Let us know how you get on at the RR.

Have you had the engine compression tested before?

No not had the engine compression done but then engine seems to be healthy .

The tape is DEI and you can feel a differance in the cold intercooler pipe with it on and as it is only thin it will not insulate the pipe either .

Look much better and and with the Ring xenon gas lamps ( 120 % more light ) there is a big improvement in the light on the road . a longer beem and more light to the side .

Took the car to Surrey rolling road on Saturday in there new Farnborough address for a run more to check the AFR and boost after turning up the boost last week .

I was the only one booked in after Charlie had a few cancelations in the morning so had a good chat about the car and how he was liking the new location .

The run was all done in 23 deg heat ( Charlie said I could have not picked a worst day for a power run LOL ) so will be 5-10 BHP / 5-10 LB/FT more on a less hot day but all was fine withthe AFR and boost that was the main thing .

Also the most gain was made in the mid range @ 4000 RPM with BHP up (48) BHP and Torque up (65) LB/FT

Old graph done at the Cliosport rolling road day in Feb vs new BHP / Torque

Boost in BAR graph

AFR graph

Pic on the rolling road

And a quick vid

The car ran very well in the heat and was spooling up nice and quick . After talking about the AFR and boost Charlie was explaining that the AFR was running very rich at the top end ( all Mr2 turbo do this ) . A Power FC ECU and map ( to sort the fuelling out to run less rich ) should make around the 350-360 BHP mark .

I may think about this later as the car is quick enough as it is but might be something I come back to after the break and suspension upgrade .

Nice numbers, however I doubt you'll make 350bhp.... for very long with just a hybrid turbo.

Got the good news of my new job on Monday bad news is it is 87 miles each day .

I was thinking about running this but im not sure the fuel bill would be nice .

Still not sure if I have made the right move putting it up for sale .

Well, congratulations on the job. Obviously i don't know your feelings on the car but I would say don't rush selling it. Maybe see how it gets on with your new route and the traffic levels. When i'm not pushing my tubby i seem to get around 30mpg which isn't too bad. And of course there's the option of a second car for the commute and the mr2 kept as a low mileage use with a classic insurance policy.

That said i can see the temptation to sell - Nice rev 3's fetch good money especially in the summer when people tend to hold on to their keepers. And 40+mpg is probably tempting.

Any replacement in mind?

Good luck anyway mate.
