Slightly different thread from the normal one on here. Met up with a fellow PH'er recently we compared 'daily drives' or sheds as you might call them. So here's mine

An N reg Nissan Almera 1.6 SLX Auto. Only 98k, and some service history. To me, it's the very definition of a car. "a motorised road vehicle designed to carry a small number of people" and that's it. Nothing else.

What you can't see from this picture is the light weight wheel on the front left, which is missing the wheel trim. I'm tempted to go light weight all round, but I'm worried it might ruin the handling, which is on the safe side of dull.

Saying all that though, I have to admit I do love the car. It's got huge sentimental value as it was my mothers until she passed away back in 2002. I 'borrowed' it from my dad about 3 years ago as a back up to what was going to be a serious track car, now it does the commute, runs to the dump and all the other boring jobs the Porker won't do. Sometimes it even does it without oil. I forgot to check after the firs 2 years of 'owning' it, and my Dad wasn't sure when he last checked. Anyway, it was empty, but no complaints at all from the car, just meekly put the oil light on when under extreme cornering forces.

However, it starts every morning, with out fail or much protest, and the only thing that's gone wrong is the heater only works on full last and the rear washer doesn't work. Other then that, nothing is wrong with it and in the time it's been in the family (I'd guess at ten years) the only thing that's gone wrong is the radiator failed.

So in honour of the trusty daily drives, show us what you've got smile

My current everyday car: E39 523i.
Just one previous Dr owner. Never had a BMW before, wished i'd got one sooner.
Superb car. Looking to upgrade to a 540 next or maybe diesel? In fact i would love an M5!
Lights are now clear, got rid of orange.

Had a 650bhp Skyline GTR R32 as a daily drive for a year. Can't find the photo, though.

My daily drive (and only car)

I've used many classics as daily drives all year round including work mileage, weekend and continental tours and rallies

I've found regular use makes them more reliable and great driving oppitunities can crop up any time

too right!

my GF's parents live in the hills in central portugal. I always borrow his car when i'm over there but to do so i have to drop him off at work in the morning. I always end up giving it the italian tune up in the hills on the way back home trying to crack the previous days time laugh

It is a U900 from about 1978. it has a 6.5 litre straight six diesel running on red as its agricultural spec. It has 6 main gears but has super crawler gears too. 1st in super low gives a top speed of 0.1km/h!!
I have a large chipper on the back aswell.
I use it most days but when not in that im in one of my 130 Defenders.(thats the model 130, i dont have 130 Landrovers).

Here's my little Italian:

I ended up paying more than my usual snotter allowance for it, but revving the nuts off the Twinspark makes me smile every time!

Cheers all
